Vegas jeeper

How's it goin guys I Just picked up a 98 Grand limited. Right now I'm getting a new V8 put in it.

Will post pics when I get it back.

Plans are cutting fenders and putting on some 33s with a 4" lift or so.

V8, Solid axle's, large after market support, sounds like a winner to me.

I guess it just depends on what you want to use it for. To me it doesn't make sense to dump money into a unibody rig.

I knew that's what you were getting at!! Lol

You must have a wrangler. But anyways there's nothing wrong with a grand because with me ill be able to wheel with the best and still ride in comfort and luxury.

I bet you can make it work!

Does anyone make body stiffener kits for the Grands like they make for the Cherokee's? I guess I don't know anything though, I drive 2 Toyota's.

Hey Grand 98, let me know when you get it back on the road, lets hook up and go wheel.

Mike

Well I just got back from the race shop over here that is fixing the engine in my V8 GC and he got the head off the drivers side and...

Engine overheated badly and galled the exhast valve wall bending it and not letting it close the rest of the way. So the piston hit the exhaust valve then in turn putting a nice divot in the piston bending the pushrod so yeah just some fun stuff happening here...

Now the next step is im getting the heads rebuilt and will be giving it a tune up. New waterpump, t-stat, battery, idler pulley, fan clutch. Also changing the front axles to u joint style and not the crappy CV. Fixing a brake line and new header panel for the headlights and a new grill and drivers fender.

Oh he checked compression and for this grand having over 203k on the clock I had 150 psi compression in all of the cylinders except for #3.

This isnt gonna be cheap either... god im gonna have to start hittin the streets pretty hard now lol

You can see the valve not sitting flush on the left.

And the lovely bent pushrod.
