What, if any, hi-tech companies are in/around Reno? - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Title pretty much states it.

I'm debating a move to Reno once I wrap up my masters in computer science.

So the question is what are some of the companies out around Reno that would look for a programmer?

There are a bunch of companies that up could check out.

GE has a plant here:

Intuit has a pretty big facility here as well:

Check out:
www.renohelpwanted.com or www.renotahoejobs.com

Both of those have some decent listings for the areas.

I personally would avoid living in Carson City. But Reno has some nice areas in it that are pretty affordable.

pretty slim for a programmer. IGT would be the biggest one you'd probably go after.

Other than that do what Glo said...and hit up craigslist. Hope you have some experience and not just education.

You could get on line and check out the at&t phone book @ yellowpages.com/nevada/reno,sparks,carson city and surrounding communities and that could give you an idea of what kind of businesses and possible opportunities we would have here for you. If you did deciede to move outside of washo co., like say to carson city you would'nt have to worry about smogging your rigs.
