See above.
A trail that a jeep can handle when it's snowy. ![]() Quote:
It's also great in April in the corn snow!! Quote:
Stock-anything isn't going to make the trail in the winter. You need at least wide 33's on most rigs, or 31's on a Sami and air down to 2-4 or less psi. Locker(s) help but aren't absolutely necessary.

See the funny part is that I'm new to wheeling and have gotten support by everybody except a few yota owners yes my jeep would have a hard time up there now with a 3 inch lift and 31s that's not much better than stock. |

Flip some shit back this way. It's all good! ![]() Just don't say that Blacktail isn't great for snow wheelin'. It is. ![]() Snow: Be willing to air down to single digits. Ideally 1-2psi. Take along an air compressor. Blown beads are a possibility at these low pressures, but you'll go much farther with low tire pressure. Take along a hilift jack. Take along a can of ether and a match and be willing to use it. (and have an idea of how to light a tire safely). Get your rig LIGHT!! Run your soft top if you have one, or go topless and dress like you're going skiing or snowmobiling!! Sipe your tires. Borrow some larger tires. Snow is relatively forgiving. If you're not being a throttle-jockey, you can run 33s or possibly 35's on your D30/D35 and just motor along normally. See the funny part is I'm willing to help you, but I'll also flip you a lot of shit, especially if you're thin-skinned! Quote:
![]() You're more likely to find a big pile of junk Toyota on the trail than a pile of junk Jeep. Chances are, the pile of junk Toyota owner put his money into stuff you can't see. It's the shiny Jeep guys you have to watch out for.

Absolutely! You can get into as much or as little of 90% of the obstacles as you want!!! There is fun to be had whether you're on 28's or 40's or everything in between.

![]() I used to wheel my wife's rig to make things more interesting.. until there was that trip with what I thought was a non-op oil pressure gauge.. turns out, the gauge was working fine.. ![]() Pretty much anywhere you go you're going to struggle with the deep snow until you re-learn how to drive, so you might as well stay closer to home. No point in driving across the state for that! I usually tell the new guys to bring their rig, but be prepared to ride shotgun - I'd rather have you ride with me and learn some more than get frustrated and turn back. I don't mind dragging guys around, but some folks have a hard time dealing with being on the wrong end of the strap. Better to park your rig and ride along and get the experience than to turn tail and run, or really hurt yourself/rig by trying to make it do things it's not ready for.

![]() Stoked for you guys to have a cabin. I've only ever done day trips. Big arctic front coming in. If it gets shitty cold at night, consider bringing your batteries in so they've got some starting power in the morning.

anyhow I would like to recommend a GREAT trail for your next ride...It's called Wild Bill/ Blacktail with some notice you can usually find a good group of locals that would be willing to spend the day up there and there is camping at the trail ..I know its not a cabin but were hardcore in these parts you would definatly have a good time!! just bring your "thick skin"
