I would love to be there this year but the funds do not allow.

Wheeled in castana many times. Been upside down twice. Totalled a cherokee 3 years ago on the weekend of the 4th. Have fun and keep the dirty side down boys, castana likes to send you tumbling. if i get around to it i will post some pics.

I am working on clarifying that non-licensed trail rigs are kosher. I will add when I make certain.

Weather should be just about perfect.

Ok - VP sez:

We have insurance through MW4WDC for the event - so you are covered. Don't go out on the county roads though, but you already knew that.

So - trail-only rigs without plates are OK.

TRAIL MAPS: there are mile and miles of trails here, unfortunately they are not all clearly marked, nor is there a decent trail map. If this is your first time at the Ridge, find someone to run with and pay close attention to landmarks. Follow the main trails until you find your way around. WE ARE SHARING THE TRAILS WITH DIRT BIKES, ATVs, and BUGGIES! Many of them are operated by small children, so you must pay attention especially when cresting hills or crossing other trails. KEEP IT SLOW AND SAFE!

RAFFLE TICKETS: each paid registration includes one free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be sold at the cookout on Saturday evening after the poker run. Tickets are $1 each. We have some great prizes so be sure and get in on the raffle.

SATURDAY MUD PIT: 10:00 am at the mud pit located near the bottom of "James Wipeout" trail. (we will meet at the registration tent at 9:45am for those who do not know how to get there yet). We will mark off the boundaries and let anyone who wants to attempt this obstacle do so. We will help with extraction, BUT the driver and/or co-driver will be the one in the mud hooking up straps and cables. Fastest time through wins $10 worth of raffle tickets.

SATURDAY HILL CLIMB: The hill climb contest is at 1:00pm on Saturday, we will meet at the registration area at 12:45 to head over to "Shaft Burglar" for those who do not know where it is located. The fastest time to successfully climb the hill and be on all four wheels at the top will be the winner and a proud owner of a new "come-a-long" tool donated by zarfab.com. All entrants will be allowed two attempts at this obstacle. If you would like to make a second run, it will be done after all trucks have made their first attempt.

POKER RUN: the poker run will start at 4:00pm on Saturday at the shelter house located at the top of the "strip". It is put on by Timber Ridge members, so please be courteous and follow the rules. The pot-luck afterwards is for Timber Ridge members only. The GT4W is providing a free cookout for everyone at the campsite area near the registration tent. Bring you own drinks please.

SUNDAY MUD PIT: Same location and rules as Saturday but at 2:00 pm, and the fastest time through wins $20 in cash and bragging rights.

NIGHT RUNS: We can run at night. Try to stay away from the campers and cabins, keep the noise down and watch for deer and other wildlife. Never run alone at night and make sure you have a flashlight, and basic recovery gear.

COMMUNICATIONS: The GT4W uses channel 22 on the CB, and there is a list of phone numbers at the registration tent, should you need help of any kind.
