Wild West 100 Carnage
Post up your carnage from the race. I am curious to see what took its toll on your rig.
The damage I have found so far: Shattered left front stub and hub, I believe the extra stress from the left side giving up caused the right hand axle joint to let go and throw a cap that ground off the lower ball joint bolt. Chromoly inner shafts arrived today, Now I can use the outers and slugs I already have ![]() The swaybar arms met the coilover lockrings removing some valuable aluminum from them , And the lower crossbrace under my fuel cell was introduced to the upper 4link arms and became an arch. Will be installing Airbumps this winter![]() Never use DIY beadlocks while racing Some of the bolts came loose on the right rear and I got a flat, I am thankful the BFG Krawler is still good, thanks Shane for yelling at me at the checkpoint! Allieds for next year for sure .With the breakage The Buggy sustained I am amazed it finished. It just goes to show, What you don't know won't hurt you.

6 sheared studs on axle, seal behind tq converter let go (took me out of race), rear housing is smiling at me. The rear housing has had the shit kicked out of it many times so thats not a real big deal. Also all my heims ends are loose but they are also almost 5 years old. Time for a tear down new paint and modifications to make it better yet. O ya i cut the inside of my drivers tire doing a little bump to pass on a certain car.

I'm probably not racing next year and plan to be there to help--either at a checkpoint or in the pits. I learned I'm not a driver--I'm a co-dawg/pit guy.

Yeah, but no offense--it didn't excite me!
I love being around racing, love driving a bit fast on the trails, but going to the max my body and suspension can handle wasn't fun. I'm not competitive enough to want to do that. I like the logistics of planning for the race--and working in the pits. Quote:

It's what we are doing with the new buggy but it's still not a "fast" suspension. My wife and I added up what we thought it would take to build a KOH wining suspension and it easly passes the 10k mark. Going fast ain't cheep, and ain't going to happen for us untill she gets out of school
