Ok i have a weding to go to in june in darby montana i was wondering if there are any good trails or parks in the area with in 2 hrs of there? and me and my buddey are goin to road tirp it on one of our two rigs from Auburn Al, yes a 46 hour trip i know god i hope something epic happens on this trip and nothing major breaks bc there is nothing like a trail fix 2000 miles from home but idc. also some pointers of where we can find good shops offroad stores any where that can get parts fast. we both have been saving our bones for this hopefuly a bad ass trip, yes i know this trip will be every costly driving a built rig all the way from the dirty south!!!!

Darby is a beautiful area. As far as trails....there's Magruder corridor south-west of there. Could still be snowed in come June however, google it.
I always thought there might be some good trails in the Salmon (ID) area just south of there, but I havent done the research. Maybe head over Skalkaho pass towards Anaconda, I hear there are a few places that way. There's just not a lot in that immediate area. If you are into fishing, Darby is the place to be. Some of the best trout fishing in the western United States is located minutes away. I spent a lot of summers throwing a line out around there.

Take a drive up tincup crk...just on the south end of Darby and walk up the trail a mile or so after the road ends. The stream is absolutely beautiful and the fishing is killer. Bring a camera.

I drove the Magruder corridor 3 or 4 years ago. It is nearly 100 miles of dirt road, there is one trail on the Idaho side out to a viewpoint off the main road to Burnt Knob which is not very challenging but the view is darn good. You won't find much as far as trails since the road is sandwiched between 2 wilderness areas. The main road is mostly rough one lane with some turnouts. I had to drive up on the bank at one point to let a diesel pick-up by and we smacked mirrors pretty good as his back wheel was hanging part way off the road going by me. Very pretty area with a nice river.

As notstock posted pics, you can see we have some gorgeous backcountry. You can do a ton of camping, hiking, fishing, shootin', and exploring.
We don't have any real insane wheelin' here. You could do pretty well with a rental 4x4 around here. There are challenging trails enough to keep those of us who live here interested--but I couldn't imagine driving 2,000 miles in a wheelin' rig. to put my t-case in 4-low on them. Our state is gorgeous, and there's tons to do here---just don't set your sights on the 4x4 trip of a lifetime. If you want to drive a built rig all the way from the durty South for hardcore wheelin' where parts breakage is a reality: think about a KOH trip. Then you moved.
