Howdy
Check out this link http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/ohv/appleton.pdf
And this one http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/ohv/iron_range.pdf I don't know if the Appleton park is still open, been wanting to drive up and check it out. I live in SE South Dakota and wheeling options around here are slim. Your actually closer to the Gilbert Park (2nd link) than the Black Hills. Check out the satellite overhead on google, looks like a killer park. |

You are 6+ hours from Gilbert, 7+ from the Black Hills and only an hour from Appleton.
Appleton shuts down for the winter and doesn't open til it drains out in the spring. Last year it took a long time til it opened because it's an old gravel pit and filled with water. No real challenging wheelin in Appleton though. I guess Gilbert is a real good place to go though. I can only vouch for awesome wheeling in BH. Last edited by insty; 02-19-2011 at 11:40 PM. |
