Good stuff. I've looked through most of your videos on youtube already

I'm going to hit up one of the more technical trails we have cut out up here on saturday and maybe start another I've been eyeballing. Still really looking forward to summer as well though

Really want to build a buggy one of these days, and have most of the parts for a decent yota buggy... except I'd need another tcase, a bunch of tube, a bender, and a shop

Have also been thinking about just turning the 89 single cab into a truggy on 1tons with a decent exo. Who knows, I guess. For now the '83 will just keep getting built but I don't want to trash the cab too much so need to work on armor.

Took the yota back in the snowy woods yesterday.

Got some body damage and grenaded the front driveshaft somewhere around 5-6k rpm trying to get up a rock ledge

My buddy was taking pics/video so I'll upload that when I hear from him

are you saying I don't?

I need a new camera man sucker still hasn't uploaded the videos from last week or whatever when I busted that driveshaft.

Did just buy a parts truck yesterday and will have a new front shaft built tonight. Also bought a 16 pack of batteries at wal-mart last night so my camera won't be dead making me rely on travis who won't fucking upload the videos

Well this may not be hardcore wheeling enough for some of you, but here are a couple videos of deep snow, big rocks, deep mud, full throttle hamster wheels, spring wrap, and a broken front driveshaft

YouTube - snow_wheeling_feb2010a.wmv

YouTube - snow_wheeling_feb2010b.wmv

New York is great no matter how much I bad mouth it in other respects

Thanks guys... probably going to head out there at least once this week. Gotta get some snow wheeling in before the spring melt makes it so muddy I don't want to tear up the land too badly.

I'd like to start cutting some more trails but will probably wait until after the spring thaw and hopefully some of my buddies will have their rigs together again too

feel free to post up pics/videos, this thread isn't just for me

Not much man, good to hear from you

I haven't been wheeling too much, trying to let the trails dry out a bit.

Some buddies and I went down to the Sporty's Iron Duke Salloon hill-climb in Minerva NY yesterday and ran into muddyrover from the rok-freekz and a few others.

I only made one run up the hill and the threads stripped off one of the bolts on my battery hold down, shorted the terminals on the battery and almost burnt the truck to the ground when I was right at the ledges at the top of the hill

Managed to get the battery ratchet strapped in, and the negative cable hooked back up (it got ripped out of the terminal when the battery moved) and then was ready to stop for the day because I was 2.5hrs from home and drove the truck there.

It turns out there were some awesome trails around the back side of the hill so we went and hit those instead of being pussies

I'll get some pics/vids up here in a few

Here's a jeep that broke a c-clip in his rear end or whatever those jeep guys do... The ended up strapping him down the hill with a truck from the top and some guys kept kicking the axle shaft back under it as it rolled

me broke and in a cluster fuck of vehicles after I rolled myself back down the ledges a bit so I could check things out

Here's the rest of the pics my brother got:

http://jontow.zenbsd.net/cpg/thumbna...lbum=57&page=3

There was a nice blue 84 extra-cab yota there that the dude had swapped an 86 EFI turbo motor into, and some other cool rigs. Met some real nice folks (and some assholes too)

going to upload some of my pics/videos now

I would have been bored as hell just driving up that hill all day like some of those guys. Here's some trail pics of our little group of 3

yep, good to meet you. don't judge us by Sporty's... it's a once a year spectacle not to be missed in the North Country. The only time i purposly put a tire in mud all year.

there are quite a few pics up on the RF site if you care to see them.

I try not to judge people too much... Mostly because I get it from both sides. Try walking into an auto parts store dressed in a nice shirt and pants (coming from work as management in an office) and see how they treat you. Then try going out to dinner in greasy garage clothes after working on the rig all day

Anyways it was a good time, and good to meet you. Sorry I was a bit flustered at the time since I'd almost burnt my rig to the ground right before that

Thanks for the tip on the pics. Was your rover parked on the top of the hill somewhere around 5pm? pretty sure I saw it when we were coming out of the trails and down over the top of the hill but I was in a convoy and didn't have a chance to check it out

5pm sounds about right. Mine was the blue d90 diesel with van sides, there was a gray SIII 88 coiler that used to be mine there as well.

i knew you were having issues, but i figured i better jump in and introduce ourselves while i had a chance.
