Land Use Issues?

We don't seem to have many threads on land use in this subforum, but we also don't seem to have many public places left to wheel...

How about a general land use issues thread? More and more trails that I had access to on state and county lands when I was a kid are now CLOSED CLOSED CLOSED with "no motorized vehicles beyond this point" signs and forest rangers checking them out.

I've been doing some digging on the NYS DEC website

And here is the "State Lands Interactive Mapper" which is sorta like google maps but has NYS stuff marked out on it:

Yup something's wrong here...

The "State Lands Interactive Mapper" has a "trails view"... the only options for filters are : hiking, biking, xc skiing, horseback, snowmobile, handicapped accessible, permit required
