Im here in central NY. We dont have shit for snow, all the good stuff went around us. Utica/Rome, Mohawk Valley has about 2-4 inches. Most of Tug Hill has the same. The ground isnt even frozen up there yet. I took a trail in my libby thinking "shit, its frozen. Should be like driving on a dirt road" Na, she sunk all the way to the unibody. Then again, thats what you get for taking a liberty off pavement.

Yeah looks like Jersey hit the jackpot we got anywhere from 10-19" depending on which way the wind was blowing. Wheeling should be fun this weekend pics to follow

This thread has inspired me to get a group together. I'll host a snow wheeling trip this coming sunday the 2nd on my private trail system.
We will leave at 11am. Please try and get there around 10am. The trails will consist of moderate wheeling that anyone with 31"+ tires could do. The group will meet at 10044 Meszler Rd., Westernville NY 13486 (roughly halfway between Boonville and Rome on Rt.46) As of right now there are about 5 rigs that said they'll show. Please no fullsize trucks, the trails are not wide enough. |

I live 20mins. outside of Penn State (State College). And I got no snow yet. A half hour drive around me has snow. But the legal trails are closed (Rock Run). So until we get snow here no snow wheeling yet. We usually get crushed. Looks like I need to drive Jersey or back to my family in Mass. Nice snow pics. guys.

I know we're all fucked for snow, but don't let this thread die yet!
Wintertime is when the shitty state forest roads might actually get challenging enough to go wheeling on. It at least adds a certain element of fun, even if it's not challenging. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() The ice was too thin to drive on, but too thick to bust through once I was down in the hole. Ended up having to winch through some of it to get the ice broken. ![]() I'd say you always want to hook your winchline up somewhere high if you're trying to winch out of a situation like this... It helps pull the front end up onto the ice instead of straight into a 3-6" solid shelf at winch/bumper height ![]() ![]() Sorry for the million pics of one stupid hole. I was out by myself and bored, and this thread needs more pictures... ![]() ![]()

weather channel says we're getting another 10"+ hit tonight at Rok-Park. been having a blast with the Ranger, but most likely we'll be wheeling 4 real this weekend.
