And to whoever is in charge of getting people together for cutting of trails, I'm 110% in!! Just won't be able to help until my junks built (link in sig). But the girlfriend's dad lives at the bottom of the mountain, side opposite of trevorton. If the main trails aren't too too bad, I'd bring my DD out.... Let me know

Can't wait for this place to open. Pretty darn excited to have another place to wheel.

As soon as my buggy is back together I will be ready to help cut trails.

Stay tune guys . Nothing new to tell you right now, but the project is moving forward and hopefully we will have some kind of official announcement in the near future.

Just saw this thread; I've been hearing a good bit of news about the park but I didn't realize they were cutting trails already, that's great news. Whenever you guys start cutting again be sure to give us a shout, our club would love to come up and help. Some of us helped cut at Rausch, and we'd love to be a part of this as well.

right now all new cutting is on hold because of a species found (wood rat) it will be awhile since they are in process of getting a grant and doing a wood rat study....but to best of my knowledge they are still doing tours etc..

Yeah, tours are still ongoing.

That article you linked is hilarious. Its like they (Habitat for Wildlife) found some crakpot to make these claims to prove why the park shouldnt open, and then the county officials make him look like an idiot when everything he says is either wrong or grossly inflated, because he didnt actually do any research on the subject

All over our area entire mountains are deforested, munched down to nubs for fiber and hauled off. They take everything they can grind into bits. Even on land that mining companies REforested by law previously, county govt. can "timber" for profit/royalties with no feasibility/impact/water/erosion...No testing...nothing goes on paper. Just allow a company to chew down and clear cut to nothing but tombstones. And the companies that do it remain nameless, plain whit pickups, no signs...

Odd you posted that. There was a guy busted for illegally dropping tree's back there and taking them out to sell them and it was a REforested area.

Last week Barry and his guys invited Mid-Atlantic Early Broncos out there. There's alot of potential for this place. They have a clean up scheduled for May 19-20 if anybody can make it.

I rode along for the MEB ride, finally got to see the west side of the park. Definitely lots of potential on both sides.

Yeah the clean-up is open to any/everyone who shows up, with some wheelin mixed in for the second half of each day. The press will be there, so heres a good opportunity to help clean up the park, and get good publicity for the wheelin community at the same time. Ill be there for sure, just not sure which day yet.
