Anybody headed up? Figured on headed up early morning mabe camping Saturday night...nothing crazy like Morris just put around see how new build is..if wanna meet up name the time n place..

I just heard that campfires are a no no after the first so make sure you check that before you light one up.

Weak! Seems like spring valley be ok just rocks around campsites mostly

Just keep in mind the Chips fire is making its way to the highlakes area, and it exploded today. Be safe if you go up there and check Inciweb.org before you go.

Ya just saw that thanks info I still might head up check it out but no where near it if looks crazy some buddy's have a cabin inskip so might check on it

Just checked the web site and the fire is actually burning away from the High Lakes and towards Butt Lake.

Ya map shows fire spreading away from It..that's gonna be a hell of a battle get that contained tho.

Got an email stating HL and Soda Ridge are closed due to forest order. Same precautions they took in 08 or 09. Stand by for link.

Yep. It was burning towards the highlakes but now is burning more north/east. There is a large closure in that area. I tried to figure out away to post the map for you guys but I can't. Just don't be surprised if where you want to go is closed. They were pulling water out of morris, lost and I think Saucer. Don't know if that would lead to any additional closures.

Chips fire.

The HL is due west of the fire and it just needs to jump that canyon. Winds are predicted to blow toward the HL.

Yeah, inciweb stated that due to the terrain they are going to build indirect fire line and let the fire burn to it. It could be 20000 acres before its all said and done! There is a map on incredible that shows the proposed fire line, right through the heart of the highlakes. So they expect it to burn trough there before they can stop it.

If what I think I am seeing on this map is accurate, all of the Morris, lotts and spring valley areas will burn.
