I'm just getting word that for public safety no one except official people is allowed into the area from any direction..
I'm expecting the Forest Order momentarily, and a picture that will show why... But South side will be closed in the morning at Rock Creek Crossing with a locked gate. The other south side entrance is closed at the SPI / Lassen N.F. boundary just above PipeJam camp and Lake North side is slcosed at Snag Lake and Lotts Lake "T", but effectively Philbrook Lake Y Problem being the fire has jumped the Chipps Creek fire hand line they had set Sunday and Monday and is into the Ben Lomond burn of 2000 Storrie fire which is loaded with down fall, and easy burning material. The south side is loaded wiith the downfall ground material from the 2008 Cub fire. Please stay away, and find some other place to take pictures and wheel... this one has more fire than we want.: mad3:

Here's the indirect fire line, and it is encroaching that, now.
https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/ftp/InciWeb...-113116-0.jpeg
This"Planned fire line" covers 20,000 acres in Lassen N.F., and 30,000 acreas between Lassen and Plumas Forests Sad days, ahead

Promised picture hasn't arrived, nor has the Forest Order closing the entire area, from all directions... expect now Monday morning on both.

Here's picture
It came with these words:
"Please keep letting people know to get out & stay out of High Lakes!!! " "Photo taken from above Lotts Lake looking towards Ben Lomond… this thing is starting to pump….." I guess since I quit paying when the money goes to Canada, I can't attach pictures any more... so it is on my server: http://www.pantheus.com/DSCN0054.JPG Ken

i really wish that they would have faught the fire from day one instead of watch a "controlled" burn turn into a fucking nightmare
controlled meaning them giving it a set date to be extinguished, and letting it burn instead of hitting it hard from the start, not that they set the fire.

Inciweb reported a drop from 5% containment to 0% when they switched strategies to the indirect fire line a few days ago. They are forecasting containment for the 18th as of late last night.

They had to give up on the active fire line as the terrain was too steep and unworkable, so they switched to a sustainable indirect fire line.. See some pictures of trying to lay hose straight up and down. Pictures on a tab on inciweb.
At first the report said it was "human caused" and started 1 mile up the Pacific Crest Trail from Highway 70, last I saw it said "under investigation" Acrage is now out to nearly 14,000 acres and full containment is now out to August 21 The wind has shifted from SW to NE meaning it is now going from NE to SW or right to The High Lakes. The High Lakes got closed to help keep The Hans from killing himself on the staricase steps.

The map and forest order are both .pdf and Pirate4x4 doesn't all them, so here is where they are
https://www.facebook.com/groups/283546723494/ I have too much to do, to convert these files into a format that Pirate4x4 will accept lame Ken

Folks living in that canyon would only be a mile from home for the grow.... not unusual, at all -- if that is what it was, which is more plausible than the couple other stories I've heard.
Much better to grow on public landd, than your own ...... so I hear.
