Where at on highway 50 does the snow start? How low will it get this weekend? What about highway 80? I have been dying to get in the snow.

Usually the have alerts on AM radio stations about where the snow starts. That or possibly check online? I would think it's pretty high up right now....considering how the weather has been recently.

a co-worker of mine that lives in Pollock Pines and said that Kyburz had snow yesturday.

it snowed here (about 4000 feet) this morning for a couple of hours. it was 38* out but we still got an inch or two. it is mostly rain now so the snow is all but gone. i would guess you would find snow 15 miles or so up iron mountain road.

yeah, i took my yota up on highway 88 yesterday. i had to go up a little ways to reach snow. probably like 6-8 inches. plenty of mud up there too. it was fun tho :P

So anyone got any idea on this weekend? The kids want me us to head up and fill the trucks up and bring it home to play in. Wanting to go up Sunday
I saw the weather report and light storms exspected in the valley, but I know it differs for the hills.

Looks to me like it will only get cold enough at the end of the storm, and not much precip at that...
