You have a family? If not, I know of a couple of rooms you could rent. Our Forestry group also(no logging, just maintaining about 2k miles of roads, culverts, etc) usually hires a couple of people a year.

Summer Student Job - in the High Lakes

The projects for which Freinds of the High Lakes (FOTHL) obtained green sticker funds to complete this summer are getting started. We already have our crew chief and a good work truck, and I posted these 2 internship positions at the CSU, Chico Career Center. We got this grant money in part because of our collaboration with the CSU Research Foundation. OHMVR liked the idea of hiring students to help with these projects. Below is what I posted. We're all thinking the same thing: "Hey, I want to get paid to camp and work in the High Lakes all summer." Well, to get these funds there were strings attached. Hands tied - you must be a college student. Remember you can always get paid to camp and take census at Spring Valley Lake. See other threads.

Job Title: Recreation and Trails Specialist
Organization Name : Friends Of The High Lakes
Hours per Week: 12/40
Wage/Salary/Stipend: $10.50/$12.50
Employment Start Date: 5/1/12
Employment End Date: 11/1/12
Job Description:
FOTHL has collaborated with the CSU Research Foundation to complete a few special projects in the High Lakes OHV area. Specifically, we will be rebuilding the small group camp area, rehabilitating a single-track trail post-fire, and reclaiming an entry road to a trail section that was destroyed by fire fighting equipment, and armoring the 519/Pipejam for heavier use.

The internship position is part time during the school year, and full time during the summer. Interns (2) will spend much of the summer in the High Lakes, and will have access to a work truck, but not gas money. The part time hours during school only coincide with the parts of the year when then snow levels allow access to the area.

Qualifications & Skills Preferred:
Some OHV experience, project management skills, mapping/GIS, basic hand tool operation, volunteer coordination, surveying, environmental management, erosion control experience. Not all skills need reside with a single intern, as we will hire 3 for these projects. We have one hired already. Full access to the area requires a semi-high clearance 4WD vehicle. The FOTHL work truck cannot access all project areas.

Job Location: Chico, CA and the High Lakes OHV Area
Job Region: *Local (within 50 miles of Chico)
Position Type: Internship
U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident
Majors : Any

To apply, send your resume to my email, or PM.

Does anyone happen to have any manufacturing job leads in the Sac area? Manual machining, welding(TIG prefered), etc? I was laid-off the day before Thanksgiving, and haven't found anything in my line of work. Ideally, I'm looking for career employment, but willing to do anything(you know what I mean ) to help pay the bills/put food on the table. TIA

Alrighty, work is scarce. Looking to work nights/weekends, maybe a day or 2 during the week depending on if I have to stay home or not.

Do you have a project at home and aren't super confident in your welding ability?
Do you have everything tacked in place on your cage and want someone more experienced to weld it?
Do you only have 110v power at your house and need something burned in with 220v power?
Do you have more money than time?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please PM me.

Mods I realize this sounds like pimping without a yellow star. I'm not looking to make this my full time job, just trying to keep my bills paid. If I need to delete it or modify it, please PM me
Thanks
B-Rad

Or if you want to hire me full time at your company or anyone has any leads let me know
I would rather link my resume and info than post it here

I need some weekend work

Hey all, anyone need some weekend work done around the Modesto Area? I am in the union of operating engineers, but work is slow. I am Certified in 12 volt electrical, owned a custom car/ car audio shop, so am skilled with almost everything automotive related...upholstery would be my weakest point. I can do fiberglass fab work, ok welder, can do engine/brakes/suspension/electrical. I may be a little rusty (been out of the bizz for 3 years), but I had been in the industry since 92. I am a pretty good hand, trustworthy & reliable. thanks for reading.
