Cow Mountain

Was up at cow today on my dirtbike and decided to head over to the 4X4 park and see if there was anything cool going on. I was very upset at the amount of trash up there. Beer cans, empty boxes of beer, just trash everywhere. Would anybody be interested in planning a clean up before the rain really starts? And it is not just around the park, it is along all the roads and a lot of the trails. I am not trying to single out the wheelers, I am one of them.

I think an annual clean up would be a great idea.

Where is this Cow Mountain and can you get to the area that needs clean up in a 2x4 because my wheeler is currently down but I am always willing to help out this type of stuff is upsetting to me cause this is why the trails are getting closed down.

I would like to help clean this stuff up. Every time I go to the red mountain campground I get pissed!.. I spend about a hour cleaning up everyone's junk before I can even set up my camp. I always leave with my garbage and everyone's junk.

What is up with jerks shooting up at the obstacle course? Why can't the dumbfuks pick up their shells? The last time I was up there by the log deck fixing another birf some goons were shooting their pistols east in the direction of the main road where all the dirt bikes ride. What do these people think.

There was some nice trees that were down by the waterfall and we had to move what was left of them out of the way with the winches because some tards ran them over and just left them. Whats with all the beer cans in and arround the waterfall?

This is just the tip of the iceberg here, this is one of the only places arround here where you can ride for free with no hassle, it's not going to last unless we pick up the slack for the ignorant.

Lets decide on a good time, I would love to help clean up this stuff. Anyone got a trailor we could use to haul some of this stuff away?

we can drag anything out i guess me buddy ran it over last weekend so now its a little skinner i think we are planning on going up like October 26 if anyone wants to roll up there. I think we would have to contact blm about disposing of everything cuz the cost to dump it i am sure would be pretty high.

Our club (Wine Country Rock Crawlers) is going to be on the Rubicon the weekend of Oct 26. I will bring up the cleanup at our next meeting for those that are staying behind.

I went there for the first time early this year when there was still to much snow in the high country to wheel and not enought to ski.
We were there for one night and must have picked up 2+bags of trash, it was bad. There was even remains of buffalo wings all over the obsticle course that our dogs kept finding. Shells and beer cans every where.
I may be able to help clean up as long as it is after harvest and fermintation, I am a winemaker in Boonville.

I'll be there. What time is everyone going to show and where are we going to meet?

There was an email sent to Mendo 4x4 letting them know about this thread. I am sure some will show, there might be a clean up day already scheduled by the club that is not posted.

I have been using that area for 18+ years. The Santa Rosa 4x4's inc. have cleaned that area as well as other trails many times in the past. We have cleaned with BLM help. we have cleaned with other local clubs, we have cleaned alone when we are in the area. It's alweays a mess up there. The only poeple that have respect for the area are the ones that clean it up. it's not getting any better. its getting worse everytime I go up there. I will be up there Sunday and will be sure to fill a couple bags of garbage. I will contact BLM again and let them know how bad the area is getting. We have used the BLM trailer for hauling trash in the past, we may be able to again.
Letter writing is always a good choice to gain attention to an area.
a few people writing letters wont make a difference, We all need to write letters
to get some attention

I'll let our club know to expect to be there for the clean up.

I'll find out what I can about a trailer for trash.
