No worries, funny thing is I actually forgot where I ended up buying mine when I posted. I found a place even cheaper than metalsupermakerts for small amoutns of tube. Its an online place, I got the same amount of tube and plate steel shipped to my house for like 10 bucks cheaper then metal supermarkets. Its called onlinemetals.com, check it out. That place is sweet. Oh and if you sign up for an account, you get 10% off your first purchase hows that for info.

I use EMJ in Hayward. They have a huge selection in stock and can get stuff pretty quick. I always try to to large buys.

looks like this hasn't been updated in a while... my quote from tube service from last week:

1.75 dom .125 wall - 3.99 ft up to 199 ft

price drop to 3.41 ft for 200+ ft purchased.

1.5 dom .125 wall - 3.44 ft up to 199 ft

price drop to 2.81 ft for 200+ ft

Not too bad. I think I payed about the same 2 years ago...

If you end up getting some 1.5, I am good for a two sticks (might even help you on the price to get to the over 200 mark?). Another note that you might consider is to get your 1.75 in 1.20 wall so in the event that you want to change something, you can put in a 1.5 piece as a slug much easier. (I just realized your handle is slug)

1.75 .375 wall

Anybody putting together a big order in the bay area? I need a few random sticks of DOM in 1.5" and 2" .120 wall sizes that can hopefully contribute to lowering the price.

teamtube prices go down as the order gets bigger. 2 sticks is 3.79 a ft. but 4 sticks is only 3.15

2 sticks of 2" .120 DOM
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 DOM

possibly 5 sticks of 1.75" .120 DOM (depending on price)

I'm looking for one stick (20ft) of 1.75 x .120. I also need a stick of 1.75 x .125 square.
Tube Service in Milpitas gave me a price of $5.75/ft for just one stick of 1.75x.120. He said next price break was at three sticks. $4.75/ft for one stick of CREW.

I just got off the phone with a few places getting quotes, here are the numbers:

Modesto Steel (pickup only, Livermore is to far to deliver)
2 sticks of 2" .120 wall DOM $3.62/ft
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM $3.34/ft
5 sticks of 1.75" .120 wall DOM $3.63/ft

Team Tube (delivered to commercial address)
2 sticks of 2" .120 wall DOM $3.95/ft
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM $3.08/ft
5 sticks of 1.75" .120 wall DOM $3.69/ft

Marmon Keystone (Delivered to commercial address)
2 sticks of 2" .120 wall DOM $3.30/ft
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM $3./ft
5 sticks of 1.75" .120 wall DOM $3.12/ft

Marmon Keystone (pick-up)
2 sticks of 2" .120 wall DOM $2.43/ft
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM $2.19/ft
5 sticks of 1.75" .120 wall DOM $2.54/ft

Tube Service of Milpitas ($10 delivery fee)
2 sticks of 2" .120 wall DOM $3.52/ft
2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM $2.69/ft
5 sticks of 1.75" .120 wall DOM $2.89/ft

Marmon Keystone is the way to go if its going to be a pick-up but Tube Service of Milpitas works better if you are having it delivered.

TSM told me $50 for delivery, maybe cause it was a residential address?

That is who has ended up on the low list (by about 30% the last couple of orders that I have made).

If you guys in the east bay are looking for a random stick on the weekend or something, let me know. I alway have 1.75 .120 wall sitting in my shop in San Leandro.

Highly recommend Marmon Keystone...a group of buddies and I went in on a large order and we got the price down to $2.17/ ft + tax for 1.75 x 1.20 DOM. We ordered about 800 ft.
