I brought my buggy project up from california it has no title, the lady at my local office told me that it would be 6 weeks before i get one "if" they decide to give me one ,she made it sound like i would be lucky if i get one at all. Is it seriously that hard to get a title for a vehicle up here?

down here it is, they only give out so many specail contruction titles/vin a year, and they are usualy gone by the middle of january.

its not a special construction though, its a fiberglass buggy based on vw beetle

Oregon DMV is a bitch. If it doesn't have a title, then you will have a hell of a time getting one.

Why do you need a title for a buggy? Are you going to drive it on the road? Just get an OHV permit for the trail and call it good.

If you did all of the paperwork and provided all the info they needed - you will get a title.

If not - just keep going back until you do. I get a different answer to the same question every time I go to the DMV

If it is a manx style buggy on a vw pan all they should need to do is a vin inspection. There should be numbers on the pan near the rear over the hump.

Not to change the subject, but seeings how youre in Hood River, I was wondering if you jumped over the creek and went to Goldendale last wknd ??

Does it have a VIN number?

If it has a preexisting VIN, its cake in Oregon.

If its a kit car, beyond a few legalities, ie lights, etc, Its not hard either.

Maybe its just me because I have to deal with this all so much, its easy once you figure out all the paper work you need.

i bought it in ca when i lived there, it was sitting in a field for god knows how long and it has no title,plus i wanna drive it
