Memorial day wheelin spots

With all of our good rock crawling covered in 10'+ of snow down here, myself and fellow wheelers are trying to figure out a good place to go for Memorial day weekend.

Are there any good places on the dryer side of Oregon to go for Memorial? I feel like there is a place near bend, but I can't remember the name. Bend is probably as far as anyone I know would want to drive, if I can even get them to go that far....

I looked it up, sounds like there is a play area and some trails? Planning on bringing a cabover, is the parking/camping near the play area and the trails go out from there?

Worth a 6 hr drive?

Come on up and I will see you there, I wouldn't mind meeting another imaginary friend

Right now with the snow levels being where they are, it's that or TSF right now. And the Crushers still have snow in them.

Cline is hard on tires (so bring a spare) and fun for two full days tops. That being said, live a little an explore a bit

Play area is a fairly large drive anywhere area. Mostly based around two long rock bluffs that are hill climbs. You can still find virgin lines of you look hard.

IMOP there are 2-3 trails that are fun.

Night wheelin is usually a good time since there is plenty of room to watch others at the play area.

Camping, parking with a cab over is gravy. It's very user friendly with a good concrete shitter.

Takes about five minutes to rally to the play area from the camp site. Redmond (town) is ten minutes tops, in case you have issues.

Sounds good, I would be down to go, despite the drive time, it's trying to get anyone else to come with.

So I looked it up, it's 7 hrs for me at that point, not much more and I'm at the hammers.

I'd still like to check it out, but it might have to wait for a week long trip.

If you wait till the snow melts then you can hit up HooDoo also. It's about 1/2 a hour away. It's at the summit of the Santiam Pass.

That's what I was trying to remember, we passed it a few years ago on the way home from North Idaho. We took a detour to check out Mt hood

Just found out that I might have to work through Memorial day weekend anyway. Dam(n) spillway problems!
