I said this to a few different people up in the PNW

"Help us find a location!!!!"

I've spent thousands of $$'s and now have no useable PNW site, we need your help, the local wheeler, to find suitable sites for events.

We want to start a PNW series, like CalROCS, but need sites that can handle the events....

Please help us find locations

Big Rich

Working on it still.

http://www.morrowcountyparks.org/17290.html

Very progressive park that is ever expanding. They have the room, and the equipment, to move alot of rock to build a course. Only drawback, is that it's miles from civilization. Lots of room for RV's (the overflow lot is huge), decent size campground, and even more room to camp just down the road. Plenty of services onsite. Only question is how many people need motels. Like I say, miles from anywhere.

Picture of the main area of the park. The area in red is now mostly campground. RV and tent spots. Long and Lat in the corner. This is an old pic. They have more buildings now. They just finished a big building to house the emergency sevices personel, and they are going to start work soon on real bathrooms and showers. Lots of outhouses on site now.

The location is almost ideal. The big question is building the course.

If you are looking on a map program or Google earth, look near Spray, Oregon.

What exactly is required?

Can we be looking at an area to use temporarrally? just to get people excited about the events?

I have never been to a Calrocks event so I would be interested in exactly what the requirements are and what is needed.

Thanks.

Seriously!! Is Straddeline a new name for the ORV park? I just looked up the Thurston County/Grays Harbor ORV park and I guess it has a new name since I've been out there. I grew up in that park and that's where my love for off-roading was fueled.

And is it seriously being considered?

Big Rich, if Straddeline is being looked at, shoot me a PM. I grew up in that area and still make it back there a couple times a year. I'll do what I can to help bring WE ROCK to the PNW!

Stradeline is an "old" name for it actually, from the 70's and so on. Since you were an Olympia local like I was, maybe you remember the big ass hill climb to the left of the main road just past the rangers building. the hilclimb itself was actually called stradeline, of course the climb itself has been closed for probably 15+ years now.

If it was to the left of the main road, wouldn't it be outside of the park? Are you talking about the one also known as King Kong?

Oh, and hi, stranger!

Yes to the left of the main road, it wasn't outside the "park" in the 70's and 80's though. there used to be camp sites, picnic tables and so on all around that big open area. it wasn't 100 yards from the rangers house there.

and Hi! Stranger

Are you looking for a natural terrain layout or to build a man made course?

Ellensburg would have been perfect the location which was good but our city counsel decided to be dush bags and not allow it. Saying that it was harmful to the environment.

That hill climb was crazy. I think it was closed because a couple people died on it. I went about 100' up it in one of my trucks, my girlfriend was freaking out, so I backed down.

I am working on a site in Puyallup.

The site in Ellensburg was denied for several reasons:
1. It was not zoned for commercial use, which a W.E. ROCK event would be.
2. All the surrounding private land owners did not want a 4x4 event held there, since they have had problems with dirt bike events in the past.

It wasn't the city counsel as much as it was a couple local residents with $$$ to hand to a local a-hole attorney.
