That is exactly our stomping grounds. Greenhorn and Vinegar Hill, over through Indian Rock and Desolation, up to Ukiah and Frasier.

You had the route correct the first time. Better drive to go the backway into Sumpter. Follow 395 out of Pendleton and turn left at County Road 20. Follow that to Austin Spur. Or 52 out of Ukiah through Granite if you don't mind the gravel.

I don't think you will be able to get through in a month. We are thinking it may be first of July before you can really get on the forest roads. County roads coming up through Sumpter on like the 20 road may be ok, but no promises.

How bout I just let you know when the roads are clear? We couldn't even get very far out of Ukiah on the 52 this weekend. That's the one that is still full of shit.

Roads are clear now. Last couple of times we were up there "we" forgot the chainsaw. Someone has been through since then and opened it up.
