Fullsize at Tahuya?

A buddy of mine said I could fit my Ramcharger out at Tahuya without screwing up the body? Has anybody been there with more truck than a Jeep?

Stay out of the South Loop and you should be fine. Just pay attention in the tight sections.

we wheel our fullsize Broncos out there and you only do body damage if you want to. The tight spots have alternate routes. It's not a big challenge, but it is a good spot for a quick wheeling trip.

I wheel my '81 Ramcharger down there pretty regularly. It'll fit everywhere (including Southloop) though expect to aquire some Tahuya pinstriping if you head into Southloop. You certainly CAN do body damage if you want to get silly, but it's not a pre-requisite.

Nothing really PBB worthy... though here's one from a trip up on Rattlesnake ridge, near Naches, last labor day.

I used to take an 84 diesel suburban out there years ago. Never put a dent in it there. No lift and 32s. It is alot better now and more challenging.

As a note, it looks like the QuadraPaws are working on a new trail loop for the more heavily modified crowd. Don't think it's all finished yet, but there were folks flopping on it last weekend.

Nice list of stuff on your rig. Beats mine. All I have is a built 360, 5" lift, 33" BFG A/T's and a few other odds and ends. But it gets the job done, LOL!

How far is it from Portland OR? Could I do a day trip, or is there a place to camp and enought places to make a weekend out of it?

Tahuya is a state park near Belfair, WA. Mapquest should find Belfair just fine.

Thank you! It looks like more then a day trip for me, so a close by state park is nice.

I am definately going to plan on heading that way sometime next year. TSF kicks ass and will never get old (for me anyways), but it is always nice to see some new territory.

Yes I live about 30 minutes from TSF and am up their all the time. Some spots are good but after the 100th time, get a little old. Plus like Rekless_Off_Road said, I love to see new stuff.

I will be up at TSF Sunday. Are you guys camping? Maybe I could stop by and say hello?

I might even come up on Saturday, but another group I wheel with (poorboy offroad) has a meeting about a week long Oregon trails (ultimate adventures type) event we are starting to plan for next July.

It's not part of Southloop. From the main trailhead, take the right hand branch. There used to be a short hill climb that was split by a stump in the middle... It is in that area.

stop by for sure. It would be cool to meet some more people. I'll be in the camo painted Bronco. We're coming in to the gravel pit next to Brown's camp sometime on Thursday afternoon around 4-6pm. We'll be the group of Ford Broncos. We will probably be leaving Sunday around noon so you might just miss us.

Sounds like fun. I will try and make it up their before 12:00 to say hello. I'll be in a green 97 Jeep TJ with 39.5 swampers and a 5.0 motor.

I will have a couple other jeeps with me, a 4 runner, and a hmmm...Well.. a THING.. called "jacka$$"... If he gets an axle shaft replaced before then.

You can stop at the gas stations on the way up and see if they have maps of the area. They are free (if they have them) and provided by TSF. The maps are really nice and show which trails are for 4x4's and give a difficulty rating.

Sorry for the thread jack.

Rusty
