Got my FJ!
I brought my '71 FJ home yesterday, YAY! Now the real fun begins.
I need to rebuild the carb. None of the local parts places have them in stock, Napa, Schucks, Autozone... Can anyone tell me if I can find a carb rebuild kit locally without having to order it? I'm in Fed Way, but I can drive a bit to get one... Thanks, Steve |

I ended up ordering it at Autozone last night. It will arrive tomorrow. Not to shabby. The funny thing is that they don't stock carb base gaskets. I will have to make one.
I have the 2 barrel carb. looks easy to rebuild. I will strip it tonight and start soaking it tomorrow then reassemble Saturday. |

I ordered a carb KIT.. Just in case anyone thought to the contrary.
After tearing down the carb last night, and looking over all the receipts to seller gave me, I don't think he was completely honest. It looks like the engine has a few more miles in it than he let on and the carb is in poor shape. It looks to have quite a few miles on it. Well a full rebuild will solve it. ![]() Thanks for the Carbs Unlimited reference! Steve |
