Weather is not looking good for next weekend but if it changes how about Poteau Mountain . We have parking close to trails on Poteau mountian.

Hey guys, sorry I have not been back on here but I have been down with that stomach virus going around here since tuesday and I have never been as sick in my life! It kicked the shit out of me!! Anyway I did talk to todd at Extreme Off Road here in poteau and he is on board and I believe the other guys are to,WEATHER PERMITING. As for RV spots I just talked to Eli at Buds Country Junction and they have only 4 spots available there. It is about 1 block from the turnoff on to pleasant valley road that we go down to the trail head. Now for those of you who dont want to drive on the roads here you can go back down panal wagon trail cause it is the easy trail and should be fine to get you back on pleasant valley road.There is a big paved parking lot right next to the turn off on pleasant valley rd and I know the people who own it and I will talk to them asap and find out if we can unload there.The rest of us can drive from here at the days inn [IF YOU STAY HERE!!}and meet up with you guys out at that parking lot. Now the city cops here are pretty forgiving unless you are doing something stupid and then you are on your own. I will have a talk with the mayor who has supported us greatly[some of you who used to come here on the thanksgiving runs we used to have will remember him welcoming the wheelers here] and tell him what is going on.One more thing the special rate for you guys who will stay here at the days inn will be 55.00 a night, if you call just tell them you are a wheeler to get that rate. Thanks to all of you who want to help!!

Moved to Monroe from Ms to work for KCS RR. Stayed 7 yrs. Went back to Ms in 2002 to work for CN RR.

Ok, talked to the people who own the property where the big parking lot is and they said no problem. There is plenty of parking for everyone if you want to use it. If everything is a go which it sounds like it will be PLEASE do not litter there parking lot!! We would like to keep using this place for future runs. The guys here said we will make a decision Tuesday so watch this thread to find out. Thanks again everybody for your help.

Oh the dilemna!!!!! Always bring 2 rigs to Poteau if you have the option!!!
