Just had a question about the "rock garden" and wanted to clarify, I am NOT having you run a man-made rock course. The course will be in a natural rocks/woods/bluffs type area (we call it the "rock garden" and you'll understand why when you see it. It looks like rocks are growing out of the ground in the trees.) and will be easy enough to complete in 2 minutes, but technical enough to challenge you.

I know a lot of folks hate rock gardens and their superior axle twisting properties, so I wanted to clear that up!

Edit: THE LOG JAM IS NOT A MUD EVENT!!! It may be a little wet to make it slick, but it WILL NOT BE SLOPPY NASTY. It shouldn't get you any dirtier than the trails will when it rains.

which trails are you thinking of running? especially for the barbie jeep???

Log Jam (not going to add any water to it, maybe just clean it out with the trackhoe a little so it's challenging, but not insane. I want y'all to get through it in less than 2 minutes.) then 2 hill climbs that aren't impossible, but difficult enough to be fun to watch (like we did last weekend, Double Trouble then maybe body damage), and then a simple run through the rock garden (I might have to move some rocks around to get a difficult, but not impossible course). I'm aiming for speed, throttle, and good times making it up the trails.

Barbie Jeep race will be on one of the spectator access trails, minimal rocks and trees. It's more for fun than anything, but I am trying to get enough cash/prizes to give something to the winner.

Sandifer and Sons Salvage, LLC is providing a dumpster to take care of all the trash, so please be sure to throw any trash you have in the dumpster. It will be near the entrance so help us keep the park clean!


I'm working on an all you can eat pancake breakfast for Saturday morning from 7-9. Cosy will be around $3 for pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee.

It's growing and more is being added every day!

Talked to Mr. Tilley today, he was very happy with the support of the event so far. He said thanks to all the competitors and sponsors who have already signed up. We have the t-shirt situation in the works and all competitors will get a shirt, and we will have them for sale for $12-15 depending on how the price to get them made goes. We are thinking of having 200 made, any thoughts? We want to make them affordable and sell them all, just to get the money back from making them and any extra go towards the park improvements.

Also, we WILL HAVE the Logan County Sheriff Dept on hand during the event with officers patrolling all night Saturday night. Safety and security is a big concern for us, so we want you to know that even though you'll be in the country, we will not tolerate anything stupid and we will have resources there to handle anyone who decides to act like a fool. This is a family event, and we hope to see folks of all ages enjoying themselves!

I'm open to any ideas or suggestions, so if you have one, post up!

really? ALL races require this stuff! no one wants to go out and race to have a good time and someone get hurt because of something that could have been prevented!

I've had 4 people either question me or make a remark about it. I'd rather not see any MediVac choppers or Logan County EMS folks at my event...unless they just show up to watch.
