And on the time penalty is 30 seconds or a minute better? I think 30 seconds is "somewhat" recoverable if something goes wrong and get maxxed out on time, however a DNS I would make a 1 minute penalty to keep people from saying "oh I don't want to run this course, but if I blast up the others in the fastest time I can still place".
System 1 is easier on me, just wanted some more input. Thanks!

How many rigs we up to now? and how many for each class?
Cant wait to come out and run the comp, are you gonna post up any pics of the hill climbs and log jam and rock course or we gonna have to run em blind if we have never been there before.

Sorry!! Been busy the past few days with some things and haven't updated the competitors list and stuff. I have to add 2 more folks tomorrow. If they have 40" or smaller tires they are small tire class, if they have over 40" tires they are big tire class.
![]() I'm going to the park tomorrow to get film of the courses and get the logistics laid out. We should be at 15 competitors right now, and I'd like to get 30. IF YOU HAVE NOT SENT ME AN EMAIL WITH YOUR RIG'S SPECS AND A PICTURE (or you don't see yourself listed ^^^ up there ) THEN THAT MEANS YOU ARE NOT ENTERED IN THE RACE AND NEED TO SEND ME AN EMAIL TO BE ENTERED!!!! ![]() I will hopefully have pics posted tomorrow of the trails. If you are a facebooker check out the park's page at www.facebook.com/RockCreekORP, I post a lot of quick info there. If you know anyone who wants to compete send them my way. Also, the lawn mower race is growing. I have 10 people signed up for it now and the track is a little over 1/8th of a mile. It'll be a grass track with plenty of room to pass.

At this time we have 7 big tire and 8 small tire competitors, that's counting the 2 people who are not listed in this thread yet. Looks like we may have a serious battle in the small tire class, there are some nicely built rigs entered.
![]() All the rigs entered put mine to shame

Ok, just got home from the park a little bit ago. Got some video and pics of the trails.
First, I want to let all the competitors know that I have done away with the rock garden course. After looking at the log jam, hill climb, and creek crawl I have decided that those three will take most of the day if I have 30 competitors and I don't want to cut the lawn mower race and Barbie Jeep races short. I can assure you that you'll still have to put the throttle down and drive like a champ to get in the money, but hopefully just doing 3 courses will leave time for the other events and make it more fun. I have figured out the spectator areas. There will not be a bad seat in the house. We are clearing out all the under growth and will have plenty of parking. I even drove my truck to all the spectator areas, and it's a poser rig on 20's ![]() The spot where the band will be is central to all the camping, has lots of parking, and will be mowed...so bring a lawn chair and a cooler. ![]() The motocross track will be nice and groomed of anyone likes that and wants to bring their bike. I don't know much about dirt bikes, but the track has some sweet jumps ![]() The drag racing track will also be groomed and you can race each other. If anyone wants a piece of the TJ I'll be glad to let you win...maybe...unless you give me a 2 car length head start, then I might show you what's up! Mud. Yep, there will be some of you're into that. Lawn mower track is ~1/5 of a mile. It will be groomed and built for SPEED. Lots of spectator area around it. Barbie Jeep race hill will be groomed and will have lots of room to watch. This will be entertaining, no doubt. If anyone has kids who have Power Wheels, I'm going to have a race for them as well. 2 laps around the lawn mower track (it's flat and smooth). I'll have a trophy for first place. No cost to enter and I hope every kid there can bring his or her "rig" and make some laps. I will be videoing this and putting it on my YouTube page, so who knows, they might be famous! ![]() Still working on sponsors and more things to make your weekend that much more fun. Thanks for all the help I've gotten so far! On to the pics of the courses..

Log jam. It's pretty simple.
Taken from the starting line. ![]() Looking back at the starting line. The water will not be there. It will be pumped out if there is any the week of the event. ![]() After the left hand turn, looking towards the finish. ![]() The turn. Again, there will not be any water.

Creek Crawl (rocks+hill climb)
![]() Big tire hill climb. ![]() ![]() Small tire hill climb (my TJ on 35's has done this...with lots of throttle and hate involved )![]() Looking down the creek/rock section: ![]() Small tires will go up the left and big tires up the right. ![]() ![]() Near the starting line. Not huge rocks, but it isn't a gravel road.

It's challenging, but not impossible and hopefully everyone will have fun and not break anything. I'd like to see all the competitors be able to wheel after the comp if they want.

What time will the comp be over? Will there be wheeling allowed the night before the comp?

I want to do awards and the raffle at or before 7:00.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to wheel the night before, we did a few weeks ago at the last event. Driver meeting at 9:00. Log Jam at 9:30-11:00 Creek Crawl/Hill Climb 11:30-2:00 Double Trouble/Hill Climb 2:30-4:00 Lawn mower race 4:30-5:30 Barbie Jeep Race 6:00-6:30 Awards/Raffle 7:00 Band 8:00-12:00 That's the plan anyway. I urge the competitors to be at the next course and ready to run when they are supposed to be. I will skip you if you are not ready. I want this to be fast paced and go smoothly, I know by the afternoon I'm going to be hot and tired, so help me out by being ready. ![]() If everyone blows through the courses we could be done 2-3 hours ahead of schedule, which would be fine with me. Mash yer mowters and get done so we can all drink beer and get the band fired up!
