Camping still allowed on the Green Acres airstrip in Clayton Ok?

Going up this weekend for the first time. Its a bit confusing on what is open or closed for trails, road in town etc but I think I have it figured out. What I haven't seen is anything on the camping situation at Green Acres... all still good? Anyone going Easter weekend?

I was up there for the day about a month ago and there were plenty of people camping at the strip.

Are the "closed trails" marked?

It was my first time there so I'm not familiar with the trails at all. There was a rope with flagging across at least one of the trails and I assumed that was the closed area. I was following a guy that had been there several times and he said he wasn't 100% sure what was closed and/or in dispute so he stayed well clear of everything he thought might not be open. I don't think it's uncommon for disputes, in that part of the world, to be settled at gunpoint. I can say that -- my parents only live a couple of hours from there....

thanks for the info. The trail list seems small, are the trails extra long? Can you hit all the trails on one day? one weekend? You can wheel at night up there right?

There are plenty of trails for 2-3 days of wheeling if you do them all. Camping is Dry camping on air strip. You are petty much in town and only 2 miles away from stores and gas. You can night wheel all you want!

I was just up there last weekend and the portion of the creek that is closed is marked pretty good. You have to make a left at Black Sheep Blvd., there is a cut across trial not to far up to the right, although it is easy to miss. That will take you to the rest of the creek riding. We ran across a "no trespassing sign" trying to find the start of Zig-Zig, and one around the Gobblers Knob area, not sure about this area.

Some of them are quite long, and many are quite difficult. I know the area VERY well and have a pretty built rig. I don't think I've ever done every trail in a weekend. Its probably possible if you have a small very experienced, built group of rigs that know the area well but it you would have have to be really trying to cover ground.

Basically you won't run out of trails!

yes after going I can say, they don't have a big number or trails but there is plenty to keep you entertained for an entire weekend. Unlike some parks that have miles of trail then one good technical ledge, this is just non-stop hardcore wheeling every inch of the trail.
