My Clayton memorial Weekend
Well, where do I start????
I now call Red Ruster "MC Hammer", (and no I still wont trade you old guys), and Rick is "Fleshwound". BTW is Rick Ok? He had a crappy weekend. Friday we met some guys from Texas and Louisiana, great group of guys. Had a blast wheeling with them. Thanks again. We ran lots af trails, even Redneck Millionare Blvd. Sat, we hooked up with Red Ruster and their group. Went some crazy places, and saw some crazier stuff. We started the day off by watching some of our group go into Plucked. We went to Redneck Millionare Blvd to watch them come up the trail. After about 5 hours of winching, and changing out an alt. and a Dana 60 shaft, we got them out. Did I say that it was raining????? ![]() I am renaming it "Flucked", cause plucked is to nice..... Sunday we just kinda aimlessly wanderd around following random groups. We saw a group of rigs heading up 3-trail, so we went around to the top, and watched/listend to them come up. It was still pretty wet so the were throttling pretty hard. We stayed there for about three hours watching 4 different groups come up. That was fun. Anyhoo here are the pics and videos. YouTube - Waterfall Sunday YouTube - waterfall saturday YouTube - blacksheep YouTube - Cakewalk ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking foward to next time. Thanks to EVERYONE who let us follow them around. Todd S.

Videos are pretty cool, definitly a different perspective. I really like the Green Mamba one, the water rolling over the steering ram is sweet.
I think I'll be working on the rig for awhile. probably won't hit Clayton or Poteau again till Labor Day but keep me in mind when and if you guys head that way again. I'm really hoping to see David break an axle on those duece and halfs, it just ain't fair. |

My full hydro steering is suckin ass, it gets worse and worse each time I go out. I could barely steer this sucker driving down the road after the day was over. So re-thinking the Hydro steering.

![]() Phil with the Toy Fj is the one that broke. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt change a thing about the weekend, I really wouldnt. I was a great learning experence. I forgot, on sat night, when we couldnt find anyone to wheel with, I got on the CB starting with channel one and going up trying to find someone still out. I made it to 7 and got a responce. That was kinda fun.

Got up saturday morning and built me a new driveshaft, and was back to wheelin all day with no more problems. Kinda figured we would see ya'll again, but that place kinda hides everyone...lol! Anyways, thanks for the cool pics and vids!

Here are some shots of the "ol guys" trying to maul their way up "Plucked". They were not very succesful though and we worked our arsses off trying to get them through. One bad alternator swap, "in the rain". And a Dana 60 axle shaft swap on a hill that requiring pull the complete knuckle off, this made for a tough ass run. Further down the hill is "Ate my Lunch". Plucked is a mean sum'bitch but "Ate My Lunch" is insane. Can't wait to try it.

In the Back on "Gobblers Knob".
Yea, that day kinda sucked in some ways, and was pretty damn cool in others.

dale
yeah, that's dale, but he's been running that rig for a year or so now. I've been with Gene and Dale's group a couple of times. One thing about those two old guys, they wheel hard. they're still ready to go when most are ready to go back for showers. Dale's got the v8 from the chevy ssr in his. all aluminum I think. That cruiser that was behind Dale is a bad sucker too. Forget his name, but he competed in the TTC about four or five years ago. Super nice rig and nicer guys.
