Phil Bargman
I'm sorry to report, my good friend Phil Bargman suffered a rather severe heart attack last night about 6:00 P.M. . Phil is an OKC fire fighter and he had just returned from a house fire when he felt dizzy and fainted at the fire house. As it was told to me, his co-workers worked on him for 30 minutes until he was medi-flighted to Baptist, he is currently in the ICU and has had a real hard night. If you know Phil then you know he is forever fan of wheelin and always helpful to us younger generation. Please keep him in your thoughts, he's a tough SOB and I look for him to come out on top.

My prayers and thoughts are with Phil! I have been around the Trailchaser group most of my life, not in the club, but around, and Phil has been a life long supporter of Oklahoma wheelin.
Keep fighting Phil! We all hope to see you back at Green Acres soon! Keep us updated Heath, you seem to be closer to Phil than most anyone on the Pirate board. |

Update
Here's a copy of an e-mail from Trailchaser member Christine Foster, looks like he's starting to make some progress from a rather grim outlook.
Hello Friends, Good news about Phil. He is improving. I went and talked to Sharon at the hospital today. Phil is still in ICU and not having visitors. However, his blood pressure is going up, it was low. The stints in his legs to his heart are removed. The balloon pump to his heart is removed. He still has the breathing tube, but is alert and can write notes to Sharon. He keeps asking for food and a Coke. He doesn't remember what happened and is concerned he collapsed in a fire, leaving his fellow fireman in jeopardy. However, he was at the station after a fire when the heart attack happened. Sharon says breathing tube will be in several more days, while the heart heals. At some point he will be moved to a regular room, but it will be awhile. The fireman are keeping a 24 hr vigil. Two at a time stay and then two more come and releave them, 24 hrs! Let's continue our prayers! They work. Christine |

This was an email I got from David Austin:
Got this report from Tom and Jan Malone this morning.... Hello to everyone, You won't believe this. Tom just called me from the hospital and he just finished talking to Sharon and his fireman friends. Phil is no longer on the respirator, he is sitting up in bed, he is eating food(real food not liquid diet) and drinking coke. Sharon says he is laughing and joking around. Tom heard the word "miracle" from the firemen more than once. They were with him when he had his heart attack. They were also using the work amazing. He will be in a room of his own in a day or two. Of course, his life will still have to change, but right now were are all so happy at his fast recovery. He still has a way to go, but this is so encouraging. He is very sore and we are sure his is on some pain meds. He is sore in his chest where they had to shock him and beat on him and also in his legs where they had to go up through an artery to the heart. But all in all he is doing great. Keep on praying for him. He has a long way to go. They will begin taking tests now to see the damage on the heart. Then they will have to go in and fix whatever damage they find. Now that he is feeling better, they will have to really try to keep him down. I will keep you up to date when I hear news. Later, Jan David Lee Austin WWW.C4X4.com WheelsUp

I was able to visit with Phil in the hospital yesterday afternoon. He is out of ICU and in a private room. He was sitting in a chair eating ice cream while we visited. Just needs some time to heal.

Finally got to visit Phil this evening and he is doing damn well for someone that was shocked 16 times with debrillator and died several times less than a week ago. He was bragging that he was able to get his first shower since he showed up to the hospital. He's in alot of pain from the chest compressions that kept him alive for awhile, in fact hiccups looked especially painful. Anyhow I'm now happy to report my good friend Phil is alive and on his way to being well.

I have only talked to him a few times at the Trailchasers meetings, but he seems to be a very cool guy. I heard the bad news while wheeling at Katemcy, and am glad to hear all is getting better, I hope to see him on the trails soon so I can get a ride in his sweet rig.
