Just wondering about what sort of trails are open to the public around the Grand Canyon national park...

I keep reading about all sorts of guided trail rides in Hummers & stuff where your the passenger & they take you to the canyon floor etc etc..

Is that all also open to the public?

What about a guy thats got his own 4x4 & wants to get a good look wheeling the trails himself?

Our club has done a lot of exploration in the North rim area. Land ownership is a patchwork of BLM, National Park, and private property. BLM in St. George has detailed maps of the area. We have camped on the rim with fantastic views and nobody else around for miles.
