Missouri

So I am coming back home to Missouri from Montana for Christmas this year and it looks like we will be there from the 23-3 or 4 of jan. So would it it be worth the extra gas to haul my truck down there? My parents live just outside of Marshall. I would be looking for more moderate trails n rocks. I am locked front n rear, 1 tons, beadlocks w/ 36" irocks, ram assist, cross over and high steer, dedenbears, blah blah. I think my biggest drawback would be that I'm at 120" wheel base. Thanks for any input, I haven't ever wheeled back there and didn't want to spend the $$ to haul it if it's not worth it.

From where you are going to be, you might look at Hannibal Rocks as well.

I looked at their web site but it didn't really offer much info. It also didn't have any dates open in December for trail riding on there calender.

Hannibal Rocks has a news years day ride that is pretty nice LOTS of food, door prizes and some decent riding.

You should look at Washita they are having one this year too. http://www.washitaoffroadtrails.com/

Hannible That's the one I was missing. I know Ks Rocks is open every weekend in Dec except Christmas. Gotta give the volenteers some time off.

Just my 2 cents, I've been to Hannibal and I was less than impressed. The trail are like 30 feet long and only is like 60 acres. I in no way would ever go back to wheel.. Now, it has short technical trail as seen on Xtreme 4x4. SMORR is Awesome. Flatnasty isnt bad, Disneys' always a blast, KsRocks is ok...

Its a bit of a drive from Marshall, but Jeremy Naeger(TTC 09) hosts a mud run at his place down in Bloomsdale. Its gonna be on Jan 1st, usually the best one of the year. I've got a few videos of his place on my youtube(type this in the search area theric85) and there was an article in Four Wheeler that covered his place from last jan's mud run.

Thanks for all the info. Makes me wish my parents would have wheeled when I was a kid living there. (They still don't) Sounds like I need to figure out the dates I'm going to be there exactly.

+1 for SMORR.. I'm not sure where Marshall is, but SMORR is a blast. Terrain for all levels of rigs, great facilities... can't say enough good stuff about the place.

Have fun!

Marshall is about 60 miles west and just a bit north of Columbia.

You would be set up good for Washita, rocks, rocks, and more rocks, (missouri granite) nothing to extreme, good facilitys close by, not to far for you to drive, maybe couple of hours or three.

My Mom lives is Seligman, Mo. I might just have to haul my rig up there and check out SMORR. How is that place in Fayetteville that you can wheel? I go to the Bikes, Blues and BBQ every year!! It is a blast.

Where exactly do you live?? I've been to Washita once and it's not but about 20 minutes from my house. My grandpa and grandma live on the MM road opposite of Highway 67.

It's a fun place to go. They're having a ride on Jan. 1st that i'd love to go to but i'll be heading to Bloomsdale instead

I just wanted to say thanks for all the replies. But, wait here it comes, the wife just put the ki-bosh on bringing the truck. Pulling with the super duty we get about 9-10mpg. Driving her jetta TDi we get oh about 40 with the carrier on top. Slight difference. She does want to make a trip to wheel there sometime though. She's not to keen about pulling the trailer in bad weather either, we have had a few wild rides in the past with trailers on ice. . Anyways, I am def going to keep this thread and when we head that way next summer or fall, we will revisit this.

Have fun with that, playing around on a couple acres watching loose wingnuts try to go though mud holes. I'll be riding with the crew bending metal at Washita - then the farm after that

Made the trip, saw 3 18 wheelers turned over and two other trucks on the way. Drove 2300 and change miles round trip with around 36 hours of moving time. Then while I was there, an article came out in the paper about smorr just mocking me . Looks like a great place. Wife agreed next time we come down in the summer we will be towing. Thanks again for all the imput and hope everyone had a great holidays.
