Backyard Bash 2008!!!!!!

This years event will be held on April the 6th in Callahan Fl. The start time for participants is 8:00 AM It is on approximately 10 acres. This is on private property and the owner has stated that since there will be vehicles involved, he WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ALCOHOL or ILLEGAL DRUGS ON SITE. So leave it at home. This goes for spectators and competitors alike. Anyone who brings any form of ALCOHOL or ILLEGAL DRUGS will be escorted off the property by law enforcement officers. We will have drinks and food available. This event is designed to allow you, the spectator, to bring your own vehicles and participate for prizes / trophies and by entering the comp ( $15.00 ) to enter, you would receive 1 full pass through the entire course. General spectators are free. Out of the $15.00 fee, this is a land usage fee, and is only for those who wish to compete. The classes this year are based solely on tire size. Again I must specify that there is a NO ALCOHOL rule in effect. PLEASE don't bring it! We may also have a Vendor Isle depending on what vendors wish to attend. Bring your own chairs.

2 courses: Timed Race Course and an Obstacle Course

Summary of past events: The first Bash was in 2001, we had about 12 vehicles competing. We had about 25 dollars in donated goods for the raffle, This was 4-Wheel Parts. As the years have went by, the event has grown, last years Bash 06 we had approximately 10,000 in donated Raffle and giveaway items as well as 986 persons in attendance. Of these persons we had 68 vehicles registered and drove the courses. This year we expect at least many sponsor to come onboard as this event continues to grow. There will be around 50 competitors, we may have as many as 2000 persons in attendance. 4-Wheel Parts will have a vendors booth for the third year.

Our Sponsors so far are:

4 Wheel Parts
ARB
Mile Marker Winches
Viair
Rough Country
Kennesaw Mountain Accessories
Skyjacker
Solid Axle
American Bedliners
KC Hilites
RockKrawler
Pro-Comp

There are 4 classes of vehicles this year, they are:

This year we will the classes are different, It is strictly by tire size, our thoughts on this is that those without lockers will see the importance of them. Those who have lockers and are overconfident, will learn the importance of driver skill.

Class 1 The maximum tire size is 33"
Class 2 The minimum size is 33.5" and the maximum tire size is 35.5"
Class 3 The minimum size is 36" and up to 37.5"
Class 4 The minimum size is 38" and up 54"

Note: ALL TIRES IN ALL CLASSES MUST BE DOT. Cut or grooved DOT tires are ok in any class

Mandatory Driver / Vehicle requirements:

Co-driver
Working safety restraint devices!

Highly recommended vehicle equipment:

Winch in all classes
Beadlocks
Locking differentials

Timed Race Course: The competitor drives the course as fast as possible for a fast time.
Scoring is 150 minus the seconds it takes to complete the course.
( it should take at least 60 seconds )
This year each jump will have a landing pad, no jump shall exceed 2ft in height and will have smooth transitions. as well as larger sweeping turns. You do not need big air to win this event.

Obstacle Course: This course has a time limit of 5 - 7 minutes depending on what class.
This time limit includes the time it takes to winch or get unstuck.
This time limit includes time for any repairs required.
The scoring is: done by the completion of the obstacles
Each obstacle is worth 10 - 20 points. Your score will be the total accumulated

General rules: There are no penalties for backing up, as the events are timed.
Going off the course, will get you disqualified for that event.

SEAT BELTS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES!
Think SAFETY!!
