Day started off craptactular for me.... Jump in the Jeep put the faceplate on the radio.....no tunes. Apparently I snagged the wrong wire to put the CB to ground in my wiring. I had accidentally tapped into the remote turn on wire for the amp. 15minutes later i'm on my way and let Jim know i'll be late.

I make it almost to the Windrock parking lot(on that curvy ass road) and all of a sudden I hear a POP/SNAP and it feels like I have no steering but the engine is still running. I then notice the temp gauge bottle rocketing into the red and then notice no volts on the volt meter, I dart for a pull off. Pop the hood and the serp. belt is all shredded up lookin' like a snake. I think to myself, damn, that belt is only 2 years old...then notice the blue/scorch marks on the idler pulley that was locked up and missing bearings out the back.

Jim and Billy come to my rescue and zip me up to the parts store and with minimal cussing, the belt/pulley go back on and we do Trail 2 to 16 then gravel back. Jim and I went and played on 15 while Billy "Supervised".

I didn't get many diverse pix, I was just ridin' havin' fun today. The pace was fast yet slow enough to allow playing. All in all, it was a good day. My rear shorter shock conversion did great as I had no bottoming out issues and the ride was good. I think Jim may have some pix/video's for later. My CB worked great as well.

Also, anyone wanting to try 15 better friggin' hurry. That trail is getting BAAAAAAAAD!!!! Like the drive up to the "tougher stuff" is getting "V-groved" out somethin' awful. Jim and I both had to give it couple school-boy trys to get outta there. The trucks pretty much on its damn side the whole time till the rocks start showing up, and then that stuff is getting bad. Like you'll get body damage to make it kinda bad.

Trail 15 upper rock body scratcher. It may not look that bad in the pic, but it could've been ALOT worse if I wasn't still in "save the body" mode:

I want to do 15 on the 3rd for sure. I think I'll just take the mirrors off before the trip.

I am posting this on every forum that I am a member, so please don't think that I am blaming anyone. In fact, I am just trying to get the word out so everyone understands.

All Gas Pipelines are off Limits unless it is a signed trail. No Riding on the Gas Pipelines or Right of Aways at all. The Signed Trails that have gas line markers (Yellow Post that say PIPELINE) are okay to ride. Also a reminder, that you agreed to stay on Marked Trails when you bought your permit.

I was down on Trail 22 yesterday and there has been heavy traffic on the Major High Pressure Gas line that goes up the hill (some know it as the old Trail 21). This is the steep hill that comes off Trail 22 down near the Creek Crossing. It was blocked for sometime but the trees have rotted, and vehicles have started to ride it again. It is off Limits. There are signs all over the place that say KEEP OUT. We are in the process of getting it blocked off but will take some time.

If you want to see who is riding on these gas lines just check youtube. I just watched a recent video of some ATV's riding old 21.

True. I goto youtube, search "windrock" then "sort by upload date". Also a good way to see how rough trails are getting.

I've been riding up on Windrock for years and I love it up there. I will be going back up there when I get home in June, perfect beer drinking and raising hell weather. Would like to meet up with some of you guys and go riding if you all don't mind the lil green sami tagging along.

Sure! Just keep the tree-savers, tow straps and a couple buddies with good winches in front of you.

Okay, I just watched a Video that Tony posted on YouTube. Windrock 2/18/2012 Part 4 where he is driving off a Gravel Road onto a trail. About 40 seconds in he almost runs over a Yellow Post. I stopped the video to try and read that post. It looked like to me it said Gas Pipeline was there? Or am I wrong?

I believe it does Ron. I wanted to at least video it to see if maybe some alternate could be done upon the exit are to open it up. Theres no sign at the bottom of the trail. I commented back on the youtube page.

This is a good example of what I was referring to about Gas Pipelines and not riding on them. This might have been an old trail, but it now has a gas line in it. Since it is not a Signed/Marked/Mapped trail it would be off limits. If the trail did not have a gas line in it, then we might have been able to reclaim it and open it as a Signed/Marked/Mapped trail for you all to ride on.

BTW, we had a Gas Line rupture yesterday on the mountain. It did not happen on it's own and I will not speculate what caused it. Here is the area it happened in.

On Trail 22 after you pass Trail 21, you come up to an intersection where the trail goes up hill and the Gravel goes down hill to Indian Greek. This would be the G23/T22 intersection. If you turn up on the Signed Trail 22 on your right side is another steep hill that goes up to a gas well. Then continuing past the gas well brings you back out on Trail 22. Well people have been riding this pipeline. At the Gas well vehicles have been climbing the hill behind the well. That is where the pipe became exposed and was cut yesterday. Gas Company and Security where still out there late last night trying to get things fixed up.

Now I know alot may have things to say about Gas Lines and Trails but we all have to remember, Coal Creek is not just a OHV Park. They are a diverse company with 72,000 acres of land. They have Timber Sales, Gas Royalties, Coal Mines, etc.....It just so happens that they OHV Park is a small piece of that pie and we are fortunate to have a Legal Place to ride and enjoy the outdoors.

Thanks for the heads up Tony. I know about that one. In fact Trail 22 has the most that are uncovered and we are working on a solution to take care of them.

Pretty obvious at the beginning of t38....or whatever the trail is that takes you to cadillac hill/rail trail.

Try this one. It's actually sxs's but I'm not familiar enough to tell where they are other than the description of the video. I'm coming up there and staying at Indian creek March 2 and 3 so I'll be spending a lot of time on 22. I don't want to make the wrong turn...

I watched it. They were not on the Old Trail 21 (Current Pipeline). They were on the New Trail 21. But, they did climb the hill by the gas well I was referring to a few post ago that we had a cut gas line at last night. The rest of the video, there were on Trail 22. Thanks for the info.
