Good example of "15 is as hard as you wanna make it" in my video from today below. Took the far right side in wet/rain/slop today....to make it interesting.
Trail 15 really has some overgrowth in the spring months: 5/13/12 Windrock Trail 15 pt1 - YouTube 5/13/12 Windrock Trail 15 pt2 - YouTube

I wanna say its like 23 or 26.....its way off up in the upper right portion of the map. The trail youre thinkinking of before 15 is just a trail to get you over to the top of trail 21.

I was there this past weekend and 39 is getting rough. Came in the far end off G-39 and went up the "drop in" before Rail Trail, couldn't believe how difficult that hill has become. Was expecting a leisurely Sunday ride and wound up getting a work out.

Yea...its gettin good no doubt. Doable....but a good line is needed. Theres also a semi-less difficult bypass around that section if ya need it.

Thank's for the info.......
We are planning on heading out there June 28th-july1st. Probably wheel the normal route, 15-little mule-school bus. Then sat do 3 and 39 if the weather is nice. Then Sunday I would like to run something different. Is there any good challenging trails towards the north side of the park? Might run 22-21 then 16 Sunday....and maybe check out the new run off 16. Is it doable for a rig locked front and rear on 35's? Last edited by Lrgrnr; 06-20-2012 at 06:04 AM. |

Theres also that new trail, "Waldens Ridge" or something, like trail 72 or 70-something....but it looks pretty dangerous to me. NCTB's run to Walden's Ridge @ Windrock OHV - YouTube http://atomiccityfourwheelers.com/fo...p=14375#p14375 Old Cumberland Trail Cut.wmv - YouTube I'm not sure about the new run off 16. I mostly hear big rigs talking about it and they think it's tough.

Ran the trail called Waldens Ridge a couple months ago and it is pretty sketchy. We were one of the first to run it so it could be worse or better now. Most of it is OK with 2 or 3 sections that have steep drop offs on both sides so you need to pay attention. One particular section has about a 50 foot straight drop on both sides and about 2 feet on each side of full widths for a good 40 or 50 feet.

Well, if "I" were on a 4 wheeler, i'd like trails I could haul ass on. So 2, 24, 22, 21, 35, 36, 41, 48, 49.
Then you got the climb/technical/slow stuff on 15, little mule, schoolbus, stairsteps and 3 is kind of a mix of sort. I don't think Rail Trail, Cadillac and/or Atomic Ridge would be much fun on a 4 wheeler.
