Yeah, I find our group running the same loop nearly every trip to Windrock. I would love to find some more trails along the same difficulty that you could make a loop out of.

Trucks gonna have to grow a little bit before I put it on those trails......

What about trail 12? We were going to go check it out, it's labeled as ATV only but was told that a truck could run it easily.....

I think 12 is cool...certainly not hardcore, but great for moderate wheelin. Wont lie...its tight in some areas(for a cherokee), but ive been with some old broncos on full widths and they made it.

Its a great trail to take on a hot day as there is tons of shade all over the place.

I have another question......we tried to find the new rock garden off of trail 16, but we only found a little off shoot that was just a rock ledge with a turn around.

Where exactly is this new trail/loop/rock garden off of trail 16?

Kinda hard to explain....it looks like a big open play area off to your left about halfway through. For me...its like the first area on 16 where i put it in 4wd.

I know that hill your talking about....i believe the garden is before that.

That explains why we missed it then......We picked up 16 off of G10. I'm guessing it's before that.

Trail 17 does not have those anymore. Bypassed sections because of Gas Line, and Dozed. About 3 weeks ago.

It is before that. It is between Trail 2 and G12. It will be on your left going down a hill towards a Creek Crossing area that is kinda of opened up. Just before that Creek Crossing area it will be on your left.

Take plenty of pics.....which way do you run 12? Both trails to get to it are rated as atv only and didn't see any rated for trucks that lead to trail 12.

Not sure which way we'll go....its jus gravel roads to get to either side. It used to be atv only but all trails have been opened up to trucks now.

Fwiw....a YJ on full width/stretched/43's will be goin with us. So if itll fit most anything else will.

I swear someone in your crew gave me directions when I got a little turned around way back in the park somewhere about 8 months to a year ago. I'd have to pull my map out to look and see where we were, but thanks for the help. I know I was a little impressed at how y'all were wheeling those newer rides.

This year Southeast TTORA is hosting its anual "Takeover" event at Windrock during labor day weekend.

Not totally true Tony, If you look on the Map there are some trails marked No Jeeps/Trucks.

These Trails are not for Trucks/Jeeps or RailBuggies. Basically they are for smaller vehicles like ATV's and SxS's. Trails 1,9,10,12,18,18a,24,28,32,37,41a,41b,57,57a,58,70a ,71. There are many reasons for restrictions. Mostly because there are narrow trails and no room for passing or turning around for larger vehicles.

One thing to keep in mind, the majority of trails were constructed years and years ago without the thought of Larger Vehicles being on the trails.

Oh...there was guy at the snack shack that told me they were all opened up around a year ago when i was buying a pass.

If it doesnt look like a truck has been on the trail....i dont use it.

48 and 49 are pretty narrow/tough to pull over if you meet another truck.

Not to take anything away from the Snack Shack, but they don't work for Coal Creek. Sometimes information is passed out incorrectly. I have heard them tell First Timers with youngsters on Dirt Bikes (like 8 or 9 year olds) that an easy route is 22, 35,36,26,27. I can only imagine the fun the parents had getting those children down Trail 26 with a Dirt Bike.

The map is the bible. Brent and the Knoxville office spend alot of time on the Map and the information that is on it.

True they are, but that is what Brent wanted. A trail where you had to think sometimes and work your way thru. More like a Trail Ride instead of a Challenging V-Notch, Rock Ledge trail. Actually I was down 49 and 6 the other day and noticed that the trails have widen a little on their own, except for the briars taking over a little.

The trail has definetly widened up. Much more fun in jeep/truck now. Good riding trail.

Jeeps are all the time on trail 12 and have been for a long time..The trails are getting wider and seeing a lot more jeeps on them... Has anything ever been done to anyone with a jeep on trails designated for atv only? I've jeeped several times down 12 and up 10 to get out. Do I need to stop that loope?

Nope you can ride 12 and 10 if that is what you want to do. What I am saying is that some trails we have at Coal Creek are designated NO JEEPS/TRUCKS/RAILBUGGIES. Nobody is gonna come out and tell you to get off any trail. The ATV only trails are on the map for a reason, might be just a warning to larger vehicles that this trail may be too narrow or not suited for larger vehicles. Or some other reason. One example of that is Trail 24 which has restricted obstacles at each end of that trail.

There are over 300 miles of trails on Coal Creek and just a small amount of that mileage is designated ATV Only.
