Corral Canyon Trail Clearing 4-22
Gunslinger Trail Clearing
Date: April 22 Sunday Where: Corral Canyon Location: Meet at 4-Corners staging area. Time: 9am Gunslinger is an easy trail for stock rigs and novice drivers and 911C is a lot harder, so we can split into 2 groups. If you have a shovel, loppers, axe it might be good to bring them as well as glasses and gloves. We need a few big trucks with stump pulling power and anyone that can swing an axe, drag a chain, or take pics. Here is a map of the area if your running late... we will be on trail #11 about 1/4 mile in http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...rdb5276720.pdf I would like to work for about 3 hours, eat lunch and then go wheelin' Directions to Corral Canyon: Go east on I8 to Buckman Springs Road (Exit 51). Go south on Buckman Springs Road about 3.25 miles. You will pass Mountain Empire High School on your left and a Forest Service facility on your right. Shortly after passing the Forest Service facility there will be a right turn with signs for Corral Canyon OHV area (17S04). Follow this for a few miles to 4 Corners Trailhead (see map) we'll be there until about 9am. If your running late go strait at 4 Corners(17S04) to Gunslinger (911 see map) and follow the ribbons. MAP HERE http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...rdb5276720.pdf For information contact Ken Orman cj54x@yahoo.com |

just got back from CC, i wish i had some old big tractor tires to drag that dirt road with, never driven over washboard that bad.
![]() i wont be able to make this clearing party but i'd like to get up there soon and help with some clipping on bronco peak and sidewinder, both are pretty overgrown. it was cool there all day, i thought it was going to be hot.

We had 9 people in 8 vehicles cut 160 yards of trail. It looks like we have about 100 yards to go. I will try to have another trail day in May so we can finish this loop before summer.
I met two different groups on the trail yesterday that read about this and they wanted to thank us for opening new trails in socal, so I would like to pass on this appreciation to all the people that have been helping. |
