Calico Friday July 20th - Sunday 22nd
Well I started to get a few rigs together for a Calico camping and trail trip about 6 weeks ago. 2 have totaled thier rigs adn cant make it, and one is flake'in out.
I have one buddy with a trailer that is meeting me up there and I got a cabin (with A/C I hear?). I was hoping to hit doran and gatekeeper and what ever else is out there. I have yet to ever have my rig there and dont know the area that well (ok not at all). Anyone that would like to come out and show us the way, and hopfully with a winch, for gatekeeper maybe? would be welcomed. I have a XJ on 37's, mostly tube, no body, 14b detroit rear and rockjock 60 front with arb. So I hope to make it fun but with little issues. Anyone? Rob Robert_Laurali@sbcglobal.net Yeah Yeah its going to be hot... Last edited by lookin4fun_inca; 07-17-2007 at 10:22 AM. |

Here is a link of a guide book that has some stuff at Calico. Scroll down and they have a map showing Odessa and Bismark canyons.

Darn, I really need to watch this forum closer. I check today and find a Calico run and a Big bear run over the weekend.
Would have loved to have gone this last weekend, hope you made it out and had a good time. -Wayne

It was fun still I guess. All I had was 2 buddy's on dirt bikes with me though. I never got the balls to go at lower doran without another rig avail to help out just in case. But did find some more basic stuff to have fun on. |

Looks like you found a canyon to play in.. I don't recognize it as one of the trails anyhow..
