Big Bear in the Snow & Mud 12/1/07

a few of us took off to big bear on saturday for a day of wheel'n in 23 degree weather with snow still falling. We were limited on where we could go due to road closures still in effect but all in all, it was a good time.

Check out the Rugged Rocks Image Gallery for all the pics: Big Bear 4 Wheeling in the snow

Heres a few teasers

AdidasCJ: go to bigbeardiscoverycenter.com for info. call up; they are really helpful. I called then 2 days ago and the lady that answered the phone said that all OHV trails are open except 1 trail which I wasn't familiar with the name so I forgot it.

Man, I have to get up there. Was going to make BB this weekend but I bet it's going to drop hard this weekend and I have to work.

Ran Heartbreak ridge (dry) , Jacob Cyn, and Gold Mt. this past weekend

Snow was nice but not really deep < 6” down trees on Gold Mt, one can be squeezed by but the other is huge and blocking the trail on top at the advance loop split. Basically can’t get to the rock garden from the top and if you take if form the bottom you will need to turn around unless you bring a monster chain saw  The other tree is down just past the split but you can squeeze as long your not too tall/wide.

2n17x has a big deep V that needs fixing after the hill climb with the 3 paths, heard some folks might be going up this weekend to work on it.

Those trees should now be gone. I was part of a work crew up there Sunday, but I never made it to the tree, but listening to the CB, it sounds like Frank and his gang made it up there and reopened the trail.
