roll over at deep creek

Im sure youv all seen the news. The boys mom is my wifes niece through marrige. My son wairs his old hand me downs. Thay brough us dinner when My wife was doing cemo. We talked about our kids and wheelin, but I never wheeled with them. We got the news early tuesday morning and i thught i wonder how it happend. I seen the pics on the daily press web site and my jaw droped. I had driven through that exact same spot with my then pregnet wife and my 1 1/2 year old doughter at the time. Now I just keep thinking what if this happend to me. Doesnt look like theres any more water now then when I crossed just no 9' deep hole. Then I read the article that makes Hunter out to be some drunken mad man on a rampage. Thay got to be one of the nicest yung couples Iv met. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I didn't hear anything about this. What happened? Obviously there was a tragic accident, but what happened?

Very sad, but in my opinion you should NEVER drink and drive off road. Especially with kids in the car http://www.vvdailypress.com/articles...mer-creek.html It's possible that this would have still happened even if they weren't drinking but the fact remains that they will get charged for it because of the alcohol consumption. It just sounds bad in the news whether it was a factor or not.

I have seen and heard of many accidents and deaths involving alcohol and 4wheeling over the years. A lot of my friends do it, but I still think it's a bad idea.

sad & stupid. We can say what we want but, most of us have been out & jump in the rig after a beer or two. Even if its to use the restrooms over the hill. Anything can happen. Until it does, we don't think about it. Now this kid has to live with his actions the rest of his life. Very sad for all the parties especially your being his son. I don't wish this upon anyone to learn a lesson.

I also love wheeling with my kids. I do not drink. I am afraid I might make a bad decision with tragic results. I just looked at the story. I am so sorry for everyone who knows these people. It is so tragic and something he will have to live with for the rest of his life and can never undo. My prayers go out to the little boy and his family....RIP little guy.

Seriously sad to see happen Pshyco & I hate to see kids getting hurt anytime.

I'd hate to see what he is going thru right now sitting alone thinking of what has happen. With lords knows what types in jail asking him what he is in for.

He needs a lot of support since the punishment is already gonna be life long. Tuff road to go down for everyone.

Yea, as if there's any punishment on earth worse than the loss of his son that he's already suffered. My wife and I watched this on the news the other night and it ruined our evening

Wow, that youtube video just made me get chills. Plain & simple that is freakin stupid to ever do. Especially not checking the depth. With the chance of that happening I would never try that without snorkel.

So, is that the same scenario that happened.

i have no sympathy for kennan. he ignored the people who warned him that he shouldn't have a toddler in the back seat as drunk as he was. instead of listening to the people who were more concerned for the child's safety than he was, he flipped them off and drove away. i feel really bad for the little guy, but i hope justice is served to the man who pleaded NOT GUILTY to this. asshole can't even man up to his own actions.

I think it a little strange that the kid was still strapped in until the CHP pull the rig out. Was the father that dunk not to even be able to dive down and rescue his son, alive or not? I couldn't imagine the hopelessness they felt while they waited for the police to show up! Tragic.
