Corral Canyon Trail Clearing Nov. 7th

Tierra Del Sol 4x4 Club will be doing work on their Adopted Trail at Corral Canyon on Nov. 7th and have invited our members to help.
----------------------------------------------------------
Gunslinger Trail Cutting
Date: Nov 7th
Where: Corral Canyon
Location: Meet at 4-Corners staging area.
Time: 8am

If you have a shovel, loppers it might be good to bring them as well as the glasses and gloves.
if not no biggie they will have them.

Here is a map of the area if your running late... we will be on trail #11 about 1/4 mile in
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland/re...orralmap.shtml

The first loop is open for use. We are about half way through the second loop.
The third loop is still in need of flagging and will be ready for construction soon.
• Long pants suggested to high brush.
• Bring lunch
• I will have bottled water available.

wish I could make it but I fly back to S.D. on the 6th and pretty sure I won't be up and running before I leave unless a miracle happens.

Gunslinger is an easy trail. We park outside of the trail entrance and walk in. You can deside if you want to run the off shoots after its finished.. You'll have first hand knowledge of what your up against..

You can't miss 4 corners literally. Anyone heading out and camping? I'm thinking about it if we don't go to Octillo wells

Today, we had 3 JustRuns, 1 SCUFF, and 5 TDS members on our end of the new trail extension off of the Gunslinger Trail at Corral Canyon. Today's work consisted of a lot of digging and cutting of brush as well as pulling out Manzanita stumps. All of it hard, physical. There were about 8 people working on the other end of the new trail working in our direction (yes, burning the candle at both ends). So approx 17 total workers.. Took about 4-5 hours to clear about 150 ft. of trail. Even with all that help we still aren't seeing the other crew work towards us. Once the trail is completed, it should be a challenging 3+ to 4 level of difficulty trail.

The next time TDS forms a work party to do trail work, hopefully we can recruit more people to help as these trails are for all to enjoy.. :cheers2;
