Are you camping on the lake bed? Or up the road? I usually try to camp by the little 50 track someone built. Not sure the milemarker or any thing though.

I usually camp on the lakebed. I don't know where the 50 track is but I don't know the area that well.

Not sure where you heard that info. All the weather sites say wind 10-20mph gusts to 30mph. High of 58 and 30% chance of showers in the afternoon.

The trails are never that windy anyway.

... A STORM SYSTEM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ORIGINATING FROM THE GULF OF ALASKA WILL SLOWLY DIG SOUTHWARD ALONG THE WEST COAST THROUGH SUNDAY. A WEAK SHORT WAVE WILL MOVE THROUGH ON SATURDAY BRINGING A CHANCE OF MOSTLY LIGHT PRECIP... MAINLY TO THE NORTHERN AREAS. THE MAIN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED SURFACE COLD FRONT WILL ROTATE THROUGH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE SUNDAY EVENING INTO MONDAY.

ALTHOUGH TIMING OF THE PRECIPITATION IS STILL SOMEWHAT UNCERTAIN... THIS SYSTEM WILL LIKELY BRING RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW ACROSS THE REGION SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING... WITH SHOWERS POTENTIALLY LINGERING INTO LATE TUESDAY MORNING.

PRELIMINARY RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING ARE... AROUND 1.00 TO 1.25 INCHES WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS... 1.00 TO 2.50 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ON THE SOUTH FACING COASTAL SLOPES... AROUND 0.25 TO 0.50 INCH IN THE HIGH DESERT... AND AROUND 0.25 INCH OR LESS IN THE LOWER DESERTS. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL START OUT AROUND 5000 FEET ELEVATION ON SUNDAY MORNING... INCREASING SLIGHTLY SUNDAY EVENING IN WARM AIR ADVECTION AHEAD OF THE FRONT... THEN DROPPING TO 4500 TO 5000 FEET ELEVATION BY LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW AMOUNTS WILL BE HIGHEST IN THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS WITH INITIAL ESTIMATES OF UP TO ONE FOOT ABOVE 7000 FEET AND 3 TO 6 INCHES DOWN TO AROUND 5000 FEET.

STRONG GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS WILL ACCOMPANY THE FRONT STARTING SUNDAY AFTERNOON. GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP SUNDAY AFTERNOON AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT... THEN TURN WESTERLY MONDAY MORNING. WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE. WINDS WILL DIMINISH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.

ROADWAYS WILL BE SLICK AND FOG... SNOW... AND BLOWING SNOW MAY REDUCE VISIBILITY AT TIMES THE MOUNTAINS. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION.

From weather.com when i looked it up the other day it said 50 gusts for Sat, but it sat looks good then gets nasty sun/mon.. hope you guys have a good time!!
