With the problems I've had with MTRs,I would suggest going with something else. Side walls don't hold up very well.

what happened to yours? ive only heard talk like that about the old style MTRs. ive heard nothing but good things about them from your average weekend wheeler. the only negative's ive read are from people on here that race and pop them. that goes for any tire though when you hit/brush a rock at 70+mph racing. im not saying you cant cut a sidewall on a tire now and then. just wondering what your story is?

with as long as you guys have to wait to get a set or a replacement i'd choose something else. Hell a set of KM2's are just as good and readily available just sayin.

i had the mtr's i like to go sort of fast in the desert not really over 50 ever so nothing crazy, i was always fixing small holes in the sidewalls of my mtrs i hated it. I went with the toyo's, they balanced better and i just got back from moab they hooked up better too and the sidewalls are far thicker than the mtrs. my mtrs still had like 80% tread too they were hardly broke in

side note, Discount tire said they will be getting some MTRs in shortly!
(been waiting for a warranty tire) Funny, only until recently have I had sidewall issues on the MTRs. I have been running them for... 6-7 years. Either the trails are getting tougher, or the driver is getting worse... probably both!

So I picked up my two new tires and the sales guy refused to sell me a new warranty. So much for the no questions asked warranty from 4 wheel parts. I will never buy from them again, the reason why I bought the tires from them was the warranty. They said it was better then Discount tire, I do not think so now!

dumb...
I was gonna take my (previously raced on) chewed up MTR to Discount that has a hole in it (from the above mentioned stagecoach road), but I feel guilty. That tire obviously has seen some serious offroad. They didn't even question my other MTR though, even with some obvious offroad wear.

what did they say there reason was? it's not like it was total destruction of the tire. If you had it on your tow rig and when out to the desert for a day to go shoot and you hapened to run over something that punctured the tire your SOL now
never been a fan of 4WHEEL parts anyways.
