Here's the host clubs web site. Once they get everything set up you will be able to down load a sign up form from the site. http://www.lascrucesfourwheeldriveclub.com/ If I'm still in Farmington in Feb. I might be going, I skipped last year after going for four years in a row.

The trailhead(airdown) is about 5 miles northwest of town. Most people just camp at the fairgrounds where they have all the sponsors, dinners, and inspections. If you don't have a problem driving your rig on the street to get to the trailhead you won't need a trailer. All of those trails you mentioned start from the same spot(airdown) and Rocotillo and Patz split off the same trail. A trailer would be nice to have in case of breakage I guess.

Im interested in attending probably the next years event (will still be in the middle east for this one
) are there any decent spots for the "less capable" rigs? ive got a 75 CJ5 that is nice on the smaller obstacles, but dont think it could handle the main attraction obstacles that are there ...

Is there a motel with in 10-15 miles of trail head? Just saying if I didn't want to camp at the fair grounds.
I'm planning on going this time around I know people that run it after the event. I don't know how it works but I'd like to be there in a good group to make sure everyone including myself makes it out. My rig has been there before and ran most the trails but I haven't. Its a full cage Toyota truggy, efi, dual case+4.7 and 5.29 with longs fr and arb. Got some bead locks for it. I still got some driveshaft and motor work to get done. But it would be a good goal to set and make the trip. So yeah! Can I stay in motel close to the trail head? And How do I get on a crew? Thanks Brody |

And for your second question all you have to do is register here: http://lascrucesfourwheeldriveclub.com/ and they'll take care of the rest. you don't have to worry about breaking and being left behind, you will have a trail leader each day on trail

Like elizard said, just register at the website and pick your trails that you want each day, any questions on what trails to pick we can help you with.
As far as motels just find anything on the west side or south side of cruces, don't do anything on the east or north side. Anything off of I 10 is good.
