Las Cruces, NM Thanksgiving Weekend

I will be in the area for Thanksgiving and I was looking to hit some of the classic trails out there, something challenging but not buggy-hard (I still have to drive it home ). I'm in a Geap Rubicon on 37" Creepys, fully armored (with what's left of the body), and wheel fairly difficult trails with plenty of spares and tools. Any locals willing to show me around?

What exact days you are wanting to hit the trails up? If it is the fallowing weekeed of TG(Nov28-30), I can guide and maybe even get a few other rigs to join in.

It would be those exact days, with the possible exception of the 30th; I'd probably travel home that day.

What axles do you have in the jeep? Are you locked and do you have a winch? This will help me figure out which trails you would like to hit up.
If you're wanting to hit up moderate to hard trails there is plenty of those,
Cayenne crawler, hopping jalapeno, sandia gulch, off broadway, broad canyon, upper broad and a few more to list. Most are easy with a few hard obstacles. Amitista ledges is a hard trail, fun but real short.
A couple of good places to check out some maps of the trails down here are:

http://www.olskool4x4.com/

http://webejeepin.com/

And the Las Cruces 4WD Club has directions to the trails posted on their site.
Anyways, keep in touch and we'll definitly show you around and have a good time on trail.

Better bring spare parts, Warpath was by far the most extreme trail I've been on yet.

I'm running D44 chromos front & rear with a full set of spares on 37" Creepys with 4.88s. I have a winch and everything except the hood is armored now. I like to do hard trails but not buggy hard, within reason for what I'm driving . I've been wheeling hard for about 4 years and have run the 'Con, the Hammers, a bunch of trails in Moab, and most of the classics in FJ in AZ (Axle Alley, H2H, Upper Ajax, Elvis, etc). Here are a couple of the most recent pics of my junk:

I've added tube fenders and a couple small armor pieces since then but that's my bitch

That video is only showing Nemesis which is the beginning of P.R., just past that spot you've got huge 14ft. ledges,...either way you'll have a ball on those trails...we've tried to hit the Chile Challenge almost every year, we're actually kind of burned out by it now,. Oklahoma is our' new Utopia now , most of the Cruces stuff will look like this...gotta love it...L

the rope is there so we don't roll backwards...

That waterfall at the beginning of warpath is easier than the Nemisis or the fallowing waterfall for that matter.
When you get to that fall at Nemisis now it has about 6-8 feet washed out and a huge rectangular boulder standing up about 8 feet in front of the fall and and that hole is fawking huge I tell ya! We ran patz about 2 weeks ago and only two of us made it up over nemisis on the left side with a winch. The abyss on tobasco twister is washed out the same way with but no huge boulder in the way though. They're both undercut sick! Here's my jeep on Nemisis. Somewhere I have a pic of the yota buggy on the left side of it from a couple weeks back. I'll get it up as soon as i find it.
