Looking for some buddies...Moab,
Hey,
I am coming down to Moab, April 17th-May 3rd. I plan to wheel Moab for 9 or 10 days, lounge around a bit then head over to Cedar City and watch the WE Rock comp. What I am wondering, is anyone going to be in the area and wanting to wheel? Willing to take an out of towner with you? I will have 3 or 4 other trucks with me but they have their own schedules and I will be the only one hanging around Moab for another week solo.... So, if anyone is up for some of the harder rated trails, BFE etc etc between April 19th and May 1st, drop me a PM or post up, Thanks!! Joe P.S. I will bring Canadian beer

We're heading to Moab on Friday (April 17th) also. There are about four or five rigs in our crew, but unfortunately we're not one toned with 40+ tires.
The biggest rig is probably mine with 37s. We're all locked and low geared though, so we'll be looking to run some 8-10 (or 4-5...think they changed it) trails hopefully. Don't know if we'll be hitting up BFE or the likes of Helldorado. Probably more like Metal Masher/Cliffhanger type runs. Not sure though. The group continually makes more mods to their rigs and gets ballsier...so we'll see . If its not hardcore enough, we could atleast drink some beers at camp or something. We'll most likely be up at the Sand Flats campground out by Hell's Revenge. Good group of guys and gals. If you want to meet up and wheel/drink a couple beers/barbeque/whatever...my number is 970-903-0175. Later, Charlie

We will be heading down the night of the 24th. Will be in town for the weekend. Planning (at least I am) on running Green Day, and Lock Jaw (both in BFE) and Pritchett. Can't stay any longer cuz I have to get home and ready for the Cedar Event.
There will be at least 5 rigs with us, mine being the smallest on 33's, but I'm still considering running Helldorado. ![]() PM your info, and I'll call when we get down there. Last edited by maveric; 04-13-2009 at 05:17 PM. |

Charlie, got a pic of your rig so I can find you better? I will swing by for a beer!
Maveric, are you running your F-toy in the Cedar event? In any event...sounds like we'll be running in the same circles. I have no problem wheeling with guys on 33's, it just means I get to see more body damage hehehe. Talk soon,

Ya, we'll be running the Ftoy in Cedar. I wanted to get the extra seat time in it before the event, but I'm afraid that I'd break it and not be able to make the comp. And since I have 3 other capable wheelers, I will just take one of them. The flatty is small enough and has enough tube laid around it that body damage is minimal. It's ran a few of the harder trails around Moab in the last couple years, and it's still mostly intact

Yeah, I think we might wind up running Pritchett on Saturday or Sunday. Not sure though. I want to talk them into playing around on some stuff down at Area BFE. Playground type stuff maybe. But, yeah if nothing else, lets catch up for some beers. Just give a shout if you don't see us...970-903-0175.

ohh and pics of 2 of the yotas ![]()

I'll be there the 30th to the 3rd. I'm looking for someone to run Gold Bar rim and Poison Spider on the 1st and Pritchet on the 2nd. Does that fit in with anyone else? My buddy is going to bail on me it looks like ...
I'll be in a short crew cab, similair to the the one Off Road Design has. I'll get a pic tomorrow when I'm at the shop, should have it road worthy tomorrow night. Last edited by WSS; 04-18-2009 at 06:45 AM. |

We ran Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim on Saturday. That was long but fun. Then we ran Pritchett on Sunday. That was sweet! The rig did well, and I never had to pull line (not for my own rig anyway). I built a homemade torsion bar (Toyota IFS) about a week before the trip out and the difference was absolutely amazing. So much more stable on everything. Never had pucker factor on anything. Watched some guys in front of me on rocker knocker, saw the line, and went right up first try. At rocker knocker, the Yota in the group started having issues with a slipping clutch and his dad's YJ's front Ox locker got fussy. So there was a lot of winching guys out of the last mile of canyon. It was fun though, and I was stoked at how well my old Jeep performed. Maveric its too bad we weren't there when you were...looks like we had the same plan. I still need to get down to Farmington and wheel. If you guys are ever close, let me know. I don't think I could do it this weekend though. Hope you guys have fun and best of luck with equipment out there. Charlie

Big thanks to Chris and his crew for sort of adopting me for a day or two!!
Ran Lockjaw, Green Day, Minor Threat and half of Pritchett with these guys, Pritchett was cut short due to a Toy R&P failure. I'll upload some pictures tonight and email em off to ya...Chris, if you drive your F-toy like you drive your Willy's your going to put on a damn good show. Your Canadian buddy, EH! Joey

Thanks.
I'll post up the flop pics. Even if I don't flop it in the comp, I'm taking the wife out after the comp. She needs the "on it's side" experience. What a better way to break in the "OH SHIT" handle ![]()
