Did Table Mesa really close?
I heard that Table Mesa closed..... either I talked to a dope head, or its closed. Is this true? And if so, why the hell did it close?

Mike (howyadoin) had way too much fun with Chads mom one night so they had to close it down for disinfection purposes....

Certain trails are on the chopping block. Hope we can win this fight, as 3 of them are great trails.

The rumor I heard is that it is closed on high air pollutant days for dust control. I was told the cops were turning away rig after rig one day

The turning away of people I believe was for when they were doing the construction. The workers there didnt like the fact that people were target shooting near them so thats why they had it closed for a little bit.

Not all of it is STL, there is BLM and private property too. But I agree, no one should be shooting there. Ben Avery Shooting Facility is about 10 miles CLOSER to town. You just can't dump your shit there, like the jackasses do at TM.

All our offroad areas are closed, looks like its back to pulling off the road and wheeling wherever whatever you can find.

Are you registered to vote and you bother to do so? They'll gladly mail you a ballot wherever you are.....free.
Maybe we need to get serious? ![]() Or we can continue to do the same things and expect a different outcome. ![]() Let's organize a cleanup or help them inventory the trails ......again.

I went to AZ for a wheeling trip for the week between Christmas and New Years, i spent Sat. thru Wed. in FJ and till Sun. in TM.
Both were AWSOME the best trails i have wheeled outside of Moab and Farmington. Fj being better than TM, but TM looked REALLY REALLY BAD!!!!! I mean BAAAAD!!!! It's not the wheelers it's the shooters, WOW that place is the worst place for trash I have ever seen! I can not beileve the county has not shut that place down. There is several things that can be done about this but none are being done. One thing is for sure SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!!!!!!Heath.

The area of Table Mesa near the Agua Fria River is private and has recently been fenced off. So, there is no access to the "beach" near the river. But, you can still legally (easement) cross the river to get to the trails on the other side.
Picture of Table Mesa at Agua Fria River is from April 2010: ![]() EDIT: Re-sized the picture.

The last clean up was May 8th. BLM supplied a 40 yard dumpster. About 60 people showed up to help, the dumpster was full in 4 hours. Arizona virtual jeep club posted it on another local site alloffroadaz.com. Thats where i heard about it. Some trails are still opened. We just have to keep working at this to so we have SOME place to wheel.

And PLEASE do not be one of the guys going on the private property at night, ripping up, running over Roberts fence to drive up and down the river or access ds, cd and other trails from the river bottom. its disrespectful and just going to get our trails shut down faster he does technically own the lower half of the trails, even if you run them from the top down.
It always has been private property, noone gave a fuck about the old town though and now someone bought it and knows what Gilette was and intends to develop the land
