'87 Jeep YJ - Trail "Buggy"

Base Vehicle: 1987 YJ frame and tub. No windshield (i.e. no VIN) and no title. Over $6k invested! THIS IS A READY-TO-GO, TRAIL-ONLY Jeep, NOT for street use. DELIVERY POSSIBLE WITHIN NEW ENGLAND

FRAME: MINT frame. Sandblasted and painted in SEM's version of POR-15. Added crossmember before rear spring hanger for strength and anti-wrap mounting. ***

BODY:
Solid tub, all typical YJ rust areas neutralized.
1" Daystar BODY LIFT.
Interior painted with same paint as frame. Exterior is flat black.
Rear wheel wells extended/"comp-cut" to allow for wheel base stretch.
NO Front Fenders. NO windshield frame.
Fair amount of rocker-rash from wheeling.
Drivetrain openings were enlarged for clearances. ***

CAGE:
TJ-based 6-POINT Roll Cage welded by a speedshop.
Herculined.
Tied into frame by professional welder.
Tied-In YJ seats.
3" Lap Belts.
Bikini Top grafted on ***

FRONT AXLE:
FULL-WIDTH, Passenger Drop, 8-lug, Chevy DANA 44.
4.56 Gears.
Flot top knuckles with HI-STEER.
SPICER Shafts and U-Joints.
SUPERWINCH Hubs.
MINI-SPOOL i.e. "Locked". ***

REAR AXLE:
FULL WIDTH, Chevy, FULL FLOATING, 14bolt.
4.56 gears.
DISC BRAKE conversion.
WELDED i.e. "Locked".
SHAVED for xtra clearance. ***

SUSPENSION:
SPRING OVER YJ Springs in front with MORE Boomerange Shackles.
SPRING OVER XJ Springs in rear with extra mains for strength and MORE Boomerang Shackles.
100-101" wheelbase thanks to XJ rear springs with CJ-style MORE shackle hangers.
3rd Link Tractor-style ANTI-WRAP bar in rear.
D8000 long travel Front Shocks with built-in bumps on FORD shock towers in front.
NO rear shocks. ***

TIRES:
38"x12.5" SUPER SWAMPER TSL's with 95% tread!
16.5"x7" (skinny to hold bead better) stock FORD 8-lug steel rims. (good candidate for DIY beadlocks) ***

STEERING:
Hi-STEER!
Desirable Wagoneer "76" Style power steering box & pitman arm.
1.5" DOM Tie Rod & Drag Link.
Poison Spyder Weld-in rod-end bungs.
1-TON Tie Rod Ends ***

BRAKES:
Front & Rear DISCS (two seasons on them.
New F&R Calipers (cadillac el dorado rears) & Pads (two seasons on them).
NO E-BRAKE.
Desirable '79 Grand Marquis Master Cylinder conversion. ***

MOTOR & ACCES.:
NOVAK V-8 motor mounts, installed by professional welder.
1998 Chevy 305 out of a van that only had 14k miles on it.
Converted to simple and easy-to-maintain carbureted fuel system via
NEW Edelbrock Conversion Manifold for late model Chevy and
NEW Remanufactured QUADRAJET Carb from JEGS (Just rebuilt).
Center-dump perfromance headers (nothing else, jeep is loud, installing exhaust would be easy though).
HEI distributor.
MOROSO Plug Wires - New plugs as of 7/1/08.
V-Belt pully system.
Altenator & power steering pump from a Blazer.
New water pump.
190* thermostat.
Plastic Fan.
NOVAK ALUMINUM CONVERSION RADIATOR (very $$$).
Cools VERY well!
Runs well! ***

TRANSMISSION:
Desirable unbreakable SM465 out of 1-ton Chevy.
3 speed + "Granny Low".
CUSTOM crossmember with poly bushings.
HIGH BELLY CLEARANCE ***

TRANSFER CASE:
Desirable unbreakable gear-driven NP205 from 1-Ton Chevy.
HIGH BELLY CLEARANCE ***

DRIVESHAFTS:
Heavy Duty, square receiver-style, super long slip, front driveshaft.
HIGH ANGLE DRIVELINE, 1350 style, CV rear shaft with NP205 flange (very $$$) ***

FUEL:
12-gal marine plastic tank in bed.
Electric mini fuel pump.
2 in-line filters.
adjustable pressure regulator ***

WIRING:
New Battery.
SIMPLE, ACCESSIBLE wiring system with fuse cluster mounted inside the firewall.
All wiring done by skilled electrician.
Headlights and NEW RECESSED Tail Lights work great.
STOCK DASH REMOVED (no heat).
Small dash panel was fabricated with ignition and 4 toggle switches (fuel pump, lights, open, open).
Generic 3-guage cluster.
Illuminated tach mounted on steering column ***

SPARE PARTS:
1 FULL SET (both sides) of front D44 shafts with U-joints.
38.5"x14.5" TSL SX w/ 20% tread on mathcing FORD rim ***

WHAT IT NEEDS:
Nothing to have fun with out in the woods with.
A winch and front and rear bumpers would be nice.
Mufflers would make it easier on your ears ***
