RENO, NV NOVEMBER 23, 2010 – Roger Norman’s Crystal Bay Casino #8 Trophy Truck finished the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 third overall and in class on Friday November 19, 2010. “Completing the Baja 1000 is always an amazing experience,” said Roger Norman. “We had a good race, our biggest issue was being able to see as we literally lost lights off the truck and battled very heavy fog.” The team of Roger Norman and Lance Clifford completed the 1061 miles in 19:56:27, a very impressive time averaging 53.24 mph. LA PAZ, Baja California Sur, Mexico (Nov. 20, 2010) – For 35 years BFGoodrich® Tires has made history in Baja and one could expect no different in 2010. The father son #21 Trophy-Truck team of Gus Vildosola Jr. and Gus Vildosola Sr. dominated the 43rd SCORE Baja 1000 in 19 hours and four seconds, claiming the overall vehicle title and providing BFGoodrich Tires with its 70th overall four-wheel SCORE Baja race win and its 24th SCORE Baja 1000 overall win. The victory was remarkable not only for its sheer accomplishment but also because it was the first time in the 43 years of the SCORE Baja 1000 that a Mexican national driver and team won the overall race. ENSENADA, Mexico-A total of 301 official entries will be part of the 43rd Anniversary celebration of the legendary Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 race Thursday morning in Ensenada, Baja California with the 2010 SCORE Desert Series season point championships on the line. The granddaddy of all desert races, which is the season-finale of the five-race 2010 SCORE Desert Series is being held on Mexico’s magnificently mysterious Baja California peninsula through Saturday.
With 301 official entries for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs competing in 33 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs in the internationally televised race, entries have come from 37 U.S. states and 19 countries. Among the entries are 27 Pro class winners from last year’s race. Late late entries will be accepted on race morning as well so the final entry total is expect to increase even more.
