Unlimited 4 wheel drive endurance racing comes to the Grand Sierra Resort Sept 8th-12th, 2010.

Hammerking Productions’ National Off-Road Sanction Ultra4 Racing will descend upon the parking lot of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, and the Hills of Exit 28, Sept 8-12th for the Ultra4 Stampede. The last west coast qualifier for the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers will begin Sept 8th with a meet and greet welcome party at the Xtreme night club inside GSR. Pre-running will take place off the I-80, at Exit 28, Thursday as teams prepare to battle approx 65 miles of Rocks, hills, and wide open desert.

The course will follow fire roads, traverse rock filled canyons, and climb dry water falls in what some expect to be the hardest qualifier for the King of the Hammers yet. With a number of teams already qualified, the $10,000 winner’s purse will attract an additional set of teams preparing for the upcoming 2011 KOH race. “This race has the most in common with the hardest off-road race on the planet. King of the Hammers has been unlike any other race, until now.” Jeff Knoll Hammerking Productions.

A key feature in the multi-day event will be a 4×4 vendor show, bikini truck wash, 4×4 vehicle shows, pit crew challenge and a contest that faces area clubs against one another to determine who has the most prepared off-road vehicle. The show starts Friday afternoon, September 10th, in the Grand Sierra Resort parking lot. In addition to all the contests, race teams will display their unlimited 4×4 race cars for technical inspection and Trey Valentine will host a live remote.

Racing starts 10:00 a.m. Saturday off Interstate 80 at Exit 28, and concludes at 6:00pm. Fifty teams are expected to compete against the brutal terrain. The course will be composed of three 22-mile laps with a spectator friendly viewing area that showcases the multiple types of terrain that Ultra4 cars are capable of conquering.  “Big dirt jumps, and vertical rock walls are just a sample of what the terrain will feature at our Exit 28 viewing area. It’s a short walk from the parking area to some of the best action.” Don Gilman Off-road Innovations
