at the helm, and Dave Kemner's infamous Car69 - Joint Force Racing is a team not short on talent nor confidence.
The team has been quietly working hard and steadily gaining momentum since their stunning performance at the RCQ.
Team co-driver Bill "BillaVista" Ansell:
"At Rausch Creek I think we really achieved something amazing - something not a lot of people believed possible and opened a lot of eyes - but we haven't been resting on our laurels. We've been working on a lot of things - team strategy, and a lot of tweaks and tuning on the car. We're going to be ready for the big race in a big way."
Team driver Charlie Melchner:
"The team just gets better and better all the time. Dave Kemner who built our car has continued to work his magic in lots of little areas that all add up to a big, big performance boost. I'm really comfortable where the car is at right now. We've also gained a lot of momentum from some great new sponsors and partners that have come on board lately, along with the continued support of our existing partners. It's a big team effort and we're quietly amassing an unbeatable team. I was recently out at Clayton Offroad's "Capture the Cone" event - which is really a unique event - we get to smash the cones for once! And the car felt really, really good."
Check out the video of Joint Force Racing's Charlie Melchner and Car69 at Capture the Cone - it's a new twist on rock crawling that sees the competitors attempting to intentionally touch, hot, smash or obliterate strategically placed cones instead of dodging them:
Charlie:
" After Rausch, Car69 spent some quality time on the dyno. You can see in the video that it climbs like a goat - but you can also hear that it is dying to go fast - really, really fast!"
Bill:
"Racing is a huge team effort. We've recently teamed up with some great folks and strategic partners and there's a lot of cool work going on behind the scenes - all of which will come to bear on race day in February. Check out the list of awesome supporters we have:
For building the baddest KOH race rig on the planet ->
"Yea, I'm really excited about our newest sponsor, The Jerky Hut, coming on board. Anybody can get sponsorship from some fruity coloured sugar-water - real men eat meat - real racers eat jerky! [laughs]"
As momentum builds and the countdown to KOH 2010 looms, Joint Force Racing continues the march towards victory. The team will be racing at the November 7th RCRocs competition at Rausch Creek Offroad Park.
Bill:
"We're stoked for the race. We "East Coasters" have a thing about Rausch Creek - we know it can be brutal, just ask [Hammerking Productions'] Jeff [Knoll] - if you can race here, you can race anywhere. There are some great friendly rivalries and also real cooperative efforts we're building out here too, with the likes of Doug [Bigelow], Adam [Woodlee], and Clayton [Walters]."
Charlie:
"Hey - I hear there might be some "big names" coming out to race in February. I also hear there may have been some hurt feelings over it. We look forward to it - bring 'em on - bring 'em all on we say! Joint Force Racing will be ready!"
Joint Force Racing - No better friend, no worse opponent.
“Be polite, be professional...and have a plan to beat everyone you meet.”
Team Philosophy:
"Hard pressed on the right. My centre is collapsing. Impossible to manoeuvre. Situation excellent. I am attacking."
Drawing on our combined years of experience in facing adversity in competition, on the trail, and in the shop, Joint Force Racing is in it to the end – win, break, or explode we never give in, never quit, never disappoint, and we guarantee to deliver for the fans, for the sponsors, and for the sport.
Joint Force Racing: Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.
The team's logo is based on the meteorological symbol for a typhoon - from the Greek “Typhon” a variant of the ancient Egyptian god Seth - God of Chaos and Destruction, Ruler of the Desert.
The team’s number, 69, was chosen for its similarity to the typhoon symbol as well as for its likeness to the ancient Chinese symbol Taijitu (commonly known as the "yin and yang symbol") which literally means "diagram of the supreme ultimate". It represents the natural dualities of complementary opposites within a greater whole - the balance of light and dark, brains and brawn, courage and cunning, hard work and hard play.
